Chapter 5

Peter and Amber decided to go out to dinner before the movie. Peter was still very nervous.

"A gentleman always pushes in the lady's chair." he remembered Davy telling him.

Peter pushed in Amber's chair. But like he did with Davy's he pushed it in too far.

"I'm sorry!" he gasped. He pulled the chair back quickly and she fell out of it.

"I'm sorry! I feel like an idiot!" he groaned.

"Don't. No guy has ever tried to impress me so much. It's really sweet." she smiled.

Peter beamed. "Really?"

"You're not the only one who's done something stupid. Remember what I did to your friend Davy? That was stupid." she giggled.

"No. What'd you do?" Peter asked.

"He didn't tell you. I kissed him. He didn't kiss me back. He said you like me." Amber explained.

Peter groaned. "He did?"

"Don't get mad. I like you too." she smiled.

Again Peter beamed. "Thank you Davy" he thought happily.

"I'm not mad. Just nervous. I'm really shy, and this is new to me."

"I know. The last guy I went out with was a jerk. I think you're really sweet. You don't have to be nervous around me. Just be yourself." Amber said.

"That's what the guys said." Peter said.

They went to the movies after that. Peter nervously took her hand as they watched the movie. She gave it a gentle squeeze.

After the movie he walked her home.

"I had a nice time." she smiled.

"Me too." Peter said.

"Well good night." she said turning towards her house.

"Amber?" Peter called. He walked to her porch and gave her a brief kiss. She looked alittle surprised.

"I'm sorry." Peter said nervously.

"Don't be. You just surprised me that's all. Are you doing anything tomorrow?"

"No." Peter said.

"Wanna go out again?" Amber asked.

He beamed. "Sure. See ya tomorrow."

She smiled. "Tomorrow."

The other Monkees were in the middle of a card game. Davy kept getting up pacing back and forth nervously.

"Will you sit down?" Mike asked.

"I'm sorry. I'm worried." Davy explained. J

ust then Peter walked in with a dreamy look on his face.

"Hi." he beamed.

"I know that look." Davy smiled. "Seeing fireworks Pete?"

"She's amazing. I want to thank you guys for helping me. Specially you Dave." Peter grinned.

"Aww. He can't stop smiling." Micky said with a grin.

"So did you kiss her?" Mike asked.

"Uh-huh." Peter grinned.

"How was it? Is she a good kisser?" Micky asked.

"I think she is. What about you Davy?" Peter asked.

Davy looked really uncomfortable. "Why'd you ask me?"

Peter laughed. "It's okay. She told me everything and I'm glad she did. I'm not mad."

"I was gonna tell you, but we talked about it on the beach. Everything worked out."

"Yeah it did." Peter smiled. "I can't stop smiling!"

"That's love babe." Micky smiled.

"Great feeling isn't it?" Davy asked also smiling.

"Yeah. I never felt this way before. I'm in...love." Peter said in a dreamy voice.

The end.
