"Popcorn?" Davy asked handing the bucket to the others. Amber smiled and took a small handful.
"Thanks." she said handing it back to Peter. Peter nervously took some and handed the bucket back spilling popcorn all over Amber.
"I'm so sorry!" Peter exclaimed.
"It's okay. I'm going to go clean up." she headed for the restroom.
"I'm an idiot." Peter groaned.
"You have to learn to relax, that's all." Davy said patting his shoulder.
After that the three went to lunch, then headed for the Pad.
"Well this was fun. Let's do it again." Amber said smiling.
"Yeah, fun." Peter said quietly.
"Sounds good." Davy said elbowing Peter in the ribs.
"Yeah. Fun." Peter said loudly.
"Bye." Amber waved.
"How was I?" Peter asked after Amber left.
"Quiet." Davy stated.
Peter ran his hand through his hair and sighed.
Mike entered. "So...?"
"I blew it!" Peter groaned.
"No you didn't. You'll get another shot." Davy said smiling.
Alittle while later Mike asked if anyone else needed to go to the
laundry mat. Everyone but Davy left. He started watching some tv
when he heard a knock on the door.
"Amber?" he said in a surprised voice.
"Can I talk to you?" she asked.
"Sure." he moved from the door so she could come in.
The two sat on the couch.
"Say, you're with someone, and you aren't sure but you think the person likes you, and you're starting to have feelings for this person...what would you do?" she asked.
"She knows about Peter." he thought with a grin.
"I think you should let this person know how you feel. Sometimes people hide their feelings for one another, and when they finally tell the person how they feel it's too late." Davy explained.
"So I should just let this person know how I feel." Amber said.
"I think you should."
"Okay." she said. Then she kissed Davy gently on the lips. Davy quickly pulled away.
"That's not the reaction I was hoping for." Amber said sounding hurt.
"Amber I-"
"I'm an idiot! I can't believe I did that! I better go." Amber said with tears in her eyes. She quickly left.
Davy ran a hand through his hair and sighed. "You're not the idiot.
I am." he thought to himself.
A few hours later the others came back, and Mike suggested they
practiced. Davy's mind was on Amber. He felt horrible. He also
played horrible. He missed his marks and when he sang he was offkey.
"I see no girl. How come he's playing so bad?" Micky thought.
"Let's take five. Davy, stay a minute. I wanna talk to you." Mike said.
Peter and Micky left the room.
"I don't mean to critize you but your playing is horrible tonight. Is something wrong?" Mike asked.
Davy sat down and sighed. Mike sat next to him.
"Okay. You know that girl Pete likes? Well she doesn't like him. She likes me." Davy explained.
"I knew it! I knew this would happen." Mike said sighing.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Davy asked.
"She told you this?" Mike asked.
"Her lips did."
Mike sighed again. "She kissed you?"
"Yeah. I didn't kiss her back and really hurt her feelings. What am I gonna do?"
"I think you need to tell her the truth. The whole truth. I mean you can't lie. Remember what happened last time you lied?" Mike asked.
"I remember. Grandfather almost sent me back to England with him. If it hadn't been for you three-"
"Me mostly." Mike joked.
"I wouldn't be here right now." Davy finished. "You're right. Tomorrow I'll tell her everything. Thanks Mike."
Mike patted his back. Micky entered the room with a huge grin.
"Not now Mick." Mike said.
"You're not going to ruin this for me Nesmith. Davy go upstairs for a minute. I...uh have something to show you."
"Can it wait? I feel really bad right now." Davy said.
"Oh come on. I have Peter up there hiding under my bed and..." he stopped realizing he let his secret out.
"Dang it!" Micky yelled. He stomped upstairs.
"You think you have problems. I think Micky's problem tops yours." Mike laughed.
"What's Micky's problem?" Davy asked.
"He's Micky." Mike said with a laugh.
"I HEARD THAT!" Micky yelled.
"Thanks you guys. I'm starting to feel better." Davy laughed.
"Well I don't." Micky said. Peter came down the stairs.
"What's Micky's problem?" Davy asked.
"I dunno." Peter stated.
"I'll go see." Davy said. He entered Mike's and Micky's room. He didn't see Micky anywhere.
"Mick?" he asked. He opened the door to leave and seen Micky dressed up like Norman's mother from Psycho. Davy jumped and grabbed his chest. Micky laughed.
"I gottcha!" he yelled. "Yes you did. Are we even now?" Davy asked still feeling alittle jumpy.
"Yeah, we're even." Micky said.
The two headed downstairs. Davy went down first.
"BOO!" Micky yelled.
"Don't do that!" Davy said.
Micky laughed.
The two walked by Mike.
"Mike. I forgot to ask you something. Should I tell Peter about the...you know." Davy glanced at Micky.
"No. I'd talk to Amber first before I did anything else." Mike said.
"What? What'd I miss?" Micky asked.
"Nothing." Mike said.
Micky took the hint that neither Mike or Davy wanted to talk about it so he changed the subject.
"Hey Dave. Wanna watch a movie later?" Micky asked.
"Sure. What movie?" he asked.
"Pscyho." Micky grinned.
"Very funny." Davy said with a sigh. "You told him about that movie scaring me didn't you?"
"Well I didn't know he was going to scare you like that." Mike said.
"Norman." Micky said in a creepy voice.
"Cut it out!" Davy yelled.
"Alright. I'm sorry Norman...Davy." Micky said.
"Micky." Mike said in a warning voice.
"Sorry. I had to get that last one in there. I'm done." Micky said.
"Thank you." Davy said.
"No problem. Norman." Micky teased.
Davy groaned.
"Micky." Mike said firmly.
"This time I'm really done. Don't feel bad Davy. I hate spiders. As you know." Micky said shooting him alook.
Davy smiled. "Yeah, I know."
"What scares you Mike?" Micky asked.
"Yeah, like I'm going to tell you two." he said.
"He's onto us." Davy said.
