"Don't trust me! Nobody else trusts me, so you shouldn't either."
With those words spoken he felt his world fall apart. These words were coming from his friend, his closest friend who he confided things to, who was there when he needed him, someone he considered a brother.
Micky had spoken these words to Peter earlier after he and Peter had an argument. Now that Micky thought about it was stupid but now Peter was in the ICU hooked up to life support and the doctors said that there was no hope - it's just a matter of time.
Micky felt the tears flow down his cheeks. He thought back to the phone call Mike had received about Peter being in an accident. The boys rushed down to the hospital, and when they arrived there they were taken to a private room where they were informed that Peter was in surgery and that a police officer would be in shortly to talk to them.
Five miutes later a police officer came in and explained to the guys that according to witnesses Peter was speeding down the street and he looked upset. He failed to stop in time, hit a concrete barrier and smashed head first. What's worse he was not wearing a seat belt and went flying out the front window.
The more the officer spoke, the more Micky started to think back to a month earlier when the guys had a falling out. Micky decided to take a vacation and while he was gone, they had replaced him and told Peter not to talk to Micky because they did not want him to know. But Peter went against their wishes and would keep in contact with Micky because he was his friend and Peter felt that just because Micky was having problems with the others, he would not turn his back on his friend.
But what Peter did not know was that Micky knew what the guys were saying to Peter and to keep Peter from getting in the middle, he figured he would be doing him a favor by pushing him away.
Micky was brought back to reality when the Doctor walked in and announced that Peter had survived the surgery, but is in a coma.
