After surviving the night with the little ones, it was time to start the first full day of babysitting. While the guys were being kept active, Kait and Liu were packing up ready to check out of the hotel. Liu looked at the program booklet that was handed out at the convention to see what lectures/activities he would be missing.
He read the topics:
"Plain clothes and you what you need to know"
"Community Policing in a Divided Community"
"Up Close and Personal with the Vice Squad"
"Up Close and Personal with the Vice Squad?" he thought to himself. "Tax Dollars at Work" he said shaking his head. Liu closed the booklet and put it in his duffle bag. He decided to skip the buffet breakfast. Seeing the children again was more important.

Back at the pad, the guys were trying to restore order (and sanity). May had found the pots and pans and enjoyed banging them together. Kevin tested the sound-barrier with his small, yet potent vocal cords.
"I think our concerts are quieter" Davy declared as he pressed his hands against his ears.
Micky picked up the little boy and he instantly stopped crying. "Hey Mick, what did you do to get him to stop?" Mike asked.
"I don't know, instinct?" Micky said proudly. He spoke too soon as not a few seconds later, Kevin started screaming again.
"So much for instinct" Mike said as he took the baby from Micky's arms. "Hey Mick, can you give me his teething ring, please?" Mike asked.
"Why?" asked Micky curiously. "Because my finger is starting to hurt!" Mike said sarcastically as he gave Kevin the teething ring.
Peter tried to distract May with some toys, but the pots and pans were too entertaining. Davy picked her up, but she tensed her body and turned her head expressing her disapproval. Davy put her down, and she toddled back to Mike. She pointed at Kevin and proclaimed:
"That's Kevin. He small. I big" she said proudly and walked away.
Peter laughed at her little presentation. Davy scooped her up and held her above his head much to her amusement while Mike crawled around looking for the teething ring Kevin had dropped.
In the hotel parking lot, Liu started the car on the way home. Kait couldn't hide her smile. Her arms were aching from the emptiness.
Liu was anxious to get back as well. "Do you think we did the right thing leaving a day early?" she asked.
"Oh yeah." he said as he focused on the road. "I don't need to get personal with the vice squad" he said smiling. He started braking as he approached what looked like a field of brake lights.
"Oh crap!" he said as he approached the mess. He quickly turned on the radio and a few minutes later heard the traffic report.
"Highway 71 is bumper to bumper over 20 miles due to a serious accident." said the male voice on the radio. "You can use Foster Road as an alternate-but that is backed up 15 miles. Just sit this one out, folks."
Liu's language became very colorful as he slammed the steering wheel with his fists. Kait looked down in disappointment.
He turned to his wife and said quietly "we're going to be here for awhile."
