"You'll take me to China over my dead body." Mike stated.
"That can be easily arranged, Mr. Nesmith." Dragonman smiled, "But it would be better if you were kept alive to tell my superiors the names of your fellow criminals."
"For the last time, we're not criminals." Mike replied. "Our activities were done while the U.S. was officially involved, but before the ground troops were sent in." He folded his arms, "I think what's bothering your superiors is that my little squadron took out a lot of military targets, including the secret headquarters of General Wang Chung Foo."
"You attacked his headquarters and killed him!" Dragonman shouted.
"Who's General Foo?" Peter asked.
"A Chinese man considered by the U.S. to be the architect of the north's early invasion plans." Mike replied, "He was a brilliant strategist and so we were ordered to take out his HQ. We were never told whether he had been killed or not."
"General Foo was also my brother!" Dragonman stepped up to Mike and backhanded him across the face.
Mike rubbed his cheek, surprised at the strength of the older man. His face also paled slightly, now knowing Dragonman had a personal stake in this affair.
"I should kill the four of you slowly to avenge my brother." Dragonman said to the Monkees, "But I will put the party's affairs ahead of my own. It is only Mr. Nesmith that we want. I will offer you other three the chance to escape with your lives."
"We're staying with Mike." Micky said.
"Bring them." Dragonman said, walking toward another door.
Boris, Madam, Chang and Toto pulled Micky, Peter and Davy to their feet and forced all four Monkees after Dragonman. They went through the door and into Dragonman's office, where there were four doors on one side of the room. Madam however, was not prepared to let the other Monkees get away.
"What about the microfilm they switched on us?" She demanded, referring to the time she and Boris had hidden microfilm in a pair of maracas. "They should pay for that."
"That was your failure." Dragonman said coolly. "Consider yourselves lucky to be alive." He then turned to Micky, Peter and Davy. "Behold, there are four doors here. One of which leads to freedom. One has a man-eating tiger behind it, another has sharp spikes that will fall on you."
"What about the fourth door?" Davy asked. That door had an 'out of order' sign tacked to it.
"It is under repair." Dragonman replied. "Now, each of you three may choose a door, guaranteeing at least one of you will live, or all three of you may choose one door. The decision is yours. You have one minute to decide."
"So what door do we take?" Micky asked, frantically looking at the three doors.
"Maybe the right one?" Peter said.
"No, we should take the left one." Davy added.
"Choose already!" Boris yelled, grabbing Davy by the neck and shaking him.
"Leave him alone!" Mike snapped, knocking Boris' hand away, "I'll choose the door for them."
Mike calmly walked over to the four doors and stood by the far right door and the 'out of order' door.
"They will take...THIS door!" Mike exclaimed, throwing open the 'out of order' door. He looked inside expectantly.
Madam laughed, "That door is out of order, fool! It does not work!"
"Really, Madam Olinsky?" Mike smiled, "Why don't you come take a look?"
Just as Madam began to walk over, several armed men in suits burst through the door! Leading the way was Agent Modell of the C.I.S!
"Hands up, you're all under arrest!" He shouted.
Chang, Toto and the two other Chinese men gave up without a fight, but Dragonman, Boris and Madam karate-chopped the C.I.S agents near them and ran toward the back door! Mike took off in pursuit. Dragonman slammed the door in Mike's face, but Mike wrenched it open...just in time to see Boris use his enormous strength to knock over the vat of hot water!
The hot water rushed like a flood toward Mike, who jumped back into the room and slammed the door again before the hot water could come through. Water began to seep under the bottom of the door. Without a word, Mike ran across the office and through the door the C.I.S agents had come through.
"Wait for us, Mike!" Micky shouted as he, Peter and Davy ran after him.
"Stop, it's too dangerous!" Modell shouted at them, but the three Monkees were gone.
