Verse03: The Meteor Shower, beat 1

For once, Eron was up before Cinnamon. He opened his eyes to see her head resting on his chest. Macy’s head was resting the opposite way. (Lovely…) he thought to himself, (I’m in for an ambush either way…) This was true. If he moved, Cinnamon would wake up and either greet him by pouncing him or give him hell about him disturbing her rest. Macy wouldn’t really care either way, so he considered gently moving her so that he’d be able to move off.

(Stealthy ninja skills, oh yeah!) he thought to himself, deciding against moving Macy and just gently nudged her with his elbow. She murmured something to herself, then opened her eyes.

"Good morning…" she said groggily and smiled up at him. Eron blushed and smiled back.

"Good morning to you as well." He stretched, "Do you think you could move for just a moment? I’ve gotta… uh… use the bathroom." He knew that she wouldn’t let him off if she knew he was gonna just sneak off or something. He also knew that if she were more aware than this, she’d see right through the blatant lie.

"Sure…" she yawned and slid off the bed. Eron held Cinnamon’s head up as he slid his pillow underneath it. She stirred, twisted around a little, then sank back into sleep. He glanced at the clock as he got off the bed and Macy lay back down. It was 8 AM.

(What am I doing up this early?) he wondered, even though he had mornings like this on the occasion. He usually just either went back to bed or went for a walk. Today, though, he slipped out into the hallway and grabbed the newspaper that was outside of the door. Stepping back in, he silently closed the door and spread the paper out on the table. "What to do today…?" he asked himself as he looked through the Travel section of The Tampa Tribune. He stashed the comics under his chair so that he could return to them before Macy stole them.

"Hmm… Parasailing… fishing… Busch Gardens… there’s an idea." He circled it, "GameWorks… nah, not today. Skydiving… hmm." He thought, "Too expensive now, but when I get paid I’ll have more than enough for it." He circled it. Eron had a job at AnimeNation, hence why he usually had DVDs to watch. Discount and free rentals, definate job perks. "That should be sometime next week. And I STILL want to go to the aquarium…" he pulled his pass for the aquarium out of his pocket. It was a Year-Long pass that let up to 6 people in for free. He had well-covered the cost of how much the pass was with visits to the attraction with friends.

"Did I hear you say Busch Gardens?" Eron jumped, and wheeled around to see Cinnamon’s head poking around the corner of the hallway leading to his room.

"Erm… maybe?" Eron rubbed the back of his head, "Just lookin’ at things to do today."

"Well, regardless, don’t forget there’s a meteor shower tonight!"

Eron blinked. That’s right! How could he have forgotten? It had been announced on TV and Radio news stations and was being hyped for weeks. It was supposed to be the biggest ever to be seen in Florida. He and Sarah had discussed watching it from the beach, and it sounded like a good plan.

"Of course, how could I forget that?" he grinned. In that case Busch Gardens would be a good bet. They could spend the day there, and then come back in time to head out to the beach to see the shower. "Busch Gardens it is then."

"Okay, but we’ll have to get my little brother to come along." She sighed

"Pepper? Why?" Not that Eron minded hanging around with Pepper. He was a techno-nerd, and Eron liked that. He was a really nice kid, and often helped Eron whenever he happened to make his computer want to launch itself off of his balcony. He was extremely good with building things, too. He had helped Eron and Sarah when they were remodeling their kitchen. Because of which the fridge talked ("Eat healthy! Stop snacking! Think thin!"), as well as the microwave (In a less annoying fashion of course).

"Well, he has a pass that’ll get us 15% off the tickets."

"Oh yeah…" Eron remembered, "Well, that’s no trouble then! We need an excuse to drag him somewhere anyway!"

"Whatever. When will we go?"

"Well, whereas it’s currently…" he glanced at the microwave and read, "8:10, and the park doesn’t open until 9:00, we’ll head out after lunch."

"What do we do in the meantime?"

"I need to eat, I dunno about you."

"So you’re going to eat until it’s time to eat again?" Cinnamon laughed

"You say that as if there were something wrong with it!"

"OBEY YOUR FRIDGE, BOY!!" ("Stop snacking!")

"Oh, hush!" he laughed and got a glass of orange juice from the fridge. He sat down at the table and retrieved the comics page from Cinnamon who had been trying to swipe it. "My comics."

"Fine, just don’t lose them."

"Well, you know how I love taking the comics for a walk, but I have the habit of leaving them outside an-"

"I GET IT!!" Cinnamon laughed again and returned to his room.

(Does that girl ever go home?) Eron thought to himself as he sipped his orange juice and read the day’s Fox Trot strip.

However, not ten minutes later, Eron found himself at the beach with Macy and Cinnamon. Wearing a bathing suit was the only time where Macy would wear any sort of lower garment. However, Cinnamon was still topless. Eron sat in the water, sinking in up to close to his nose watching Macy and Cinnamon attempt a 1 on 1 Volleyball match. They didn’t have much luck with this, and started arguing over who was going to retrieve the ball after it landed into a mass of sandspurs.

Soon after this, two more bodies were in the water next to Eron.

"What’re you gonna do about my volleyball?" Eron asked

"It’s a casualty of war!"

"What?! You can just slip a pair of sandals on and go get it!"

"Eh, I’ll do it later. The water’s so niiice…" Cinnamon sighed and sat down so she was even with Eron. Macy floated by on an inflatable raft, humming to herself. It was pretty obvious that she wasn’t about to leap out of the water and rush to get the ball, either. Eron shrugged. Not a big loss to him, not like it was actually his ball anyway. He had found it on the way to the beach and had ‘adopted’ it.

"Can we go yet?" Cinnamon asked, leaning against him in the water, "Isn’t it almost lunchtime?"

"Well, as I don’t have a waterproof watch, I couldn’t tell you. Ah! There’s a pretty clear sign for you." He pointed as Sarah approached where they had laid down their clothes and such, laying down a basket of sandwiches and chips. "Food, dude!"

Macy, Cinnamon, and Eron all plodded up out of the water to the food, like moths to a flame. Sarah had brought the normal beach eats, peanut butter sandwiches, bar-b-que chips, and some random colas. They all sat under the shade of an oversized umbrella and ate happily. Eron finally got Cinnamon to go and get the volleyball out from the sandspurs, and then gave her grief about the whole 10 seconds it took to do so.

"I still say we should’ve just let it be a casualty."

"It saves money for other things! Like boredom cures! Or anime! Snacks! Arcades! More anime!"

"Don’t have a one-track mind, do you?" Cinnamon poked Eron in the shoulder playfully.

"Of course I don’t!" Eron struck a mock-proud pose, "I am a very complex tiger bo -- Oooh, shiny thing…"

"Well, you’d best get going," Sarah advised, packing up the garbage to dispose of once she returned home, "If you want to do anything before you have to head home tonight."

"Right!" Eron nodded and stood up, "Well, let’s go get Pepper then."

"Oh, he’s coming along?" Sarah glanced at Eron, "That’s nice of you to invite him to go with you all!"

"Yeah, he needs to get out more often!" Cinnamon said, "And he gets us discounts! I wonder why he has the thing when he never goes anyway…"

About 20 minutes later, Cinnamon, Eron, Macy, and Pepper were on a bus on the way to Busch Gardens. Eron’s mind wandered to the meteor shower that would take place later that day…
