In compiling this list, I used my judgment to determine what spells would be bottled, usually centered on or affecting one creature. Some spells were too complex, like Enthrall, or just awkward, like Segia Snake Symbol, to effectively bottle I even included some seemingly nonsensical things, like a self-only potion of mass cure because of the upper +HP limit. Usually, anything that somewhat directly affected the consumer, like generating a field. Since I disagree with the rule that personal-only spells can't be brewed, I added them to this list simply because they're mostly sensical in potion form. - - - - Version History - - - - - (*)Version 1: I was bored one night and felt a need to compile a list of potion-worthy spells to try to convince my DM to allow Brew Potion to make spells of more than level 4. Touch spells use the brewer's base attack bonus. [self only]: Only the consumer gets the benefit, though the spell may normally allow more targets. [self-centered]: The area effect targets the consumer and only moves if the spell description allows it. [Name, like Mordenkainen]: Because of open gaming license terms, the SRD's spell names are changed somewhat. I'll remove these names if someone with authority at Wizards of the Coast really wants them gone. [determined at creation]: I usually recommend keeping these out of random treasure, but, if you must include them, roll d# of items, like d7 for Contagation to determine its disease. [oil]: This potion is generally not meant for humanoid oral consumption, but, rather, an object. Spell oils that convey information to the caster, such as Identify, convey information to the main oil applier.
