"I'm really excited about these images. They're photographs, but they look like watercolors, and, indeed, they are printed on watercolor paper. They truly must be seen to fully appreciate the subtle, impressionistic effects. As you can see from the images on this page, this process enhances both formal and casual portraits. Come visit my studio soon so that you can view these works of art in person."

"Patterson has an uncanny ability to extract some powerful psychological insights from her subjects."

"The color work I do, I entrust to a lab that I've had a relationship with ever since I started photographing. It is one of the best labs in the country. The technicians' commitment to using only the best and most long lasting materials and processes allows me to feel confident that the portraits I take of you will last for generations to come.

When you choose black-and-white for your portrait, I print these myself. I use a fiber paper and printing processes that are known for their longevity. I feel that if you have asked me to "capture your spirit", you will want that image to last a long, long time."
