About me:

Born: 7th March 1973

Lives: UK

Occupations: Film Maker, Writer, Extra, Mature Student.

Diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome, a mild form of Autism, in 1987.

More about me:

Living and coping with Asperger's Syndrome has been a challenge, only in recent years have I been able to manage properly. This is due to improved knowledge by all who know me well about the disability and how to cope with it. It is crucial that people like myself who have Asperger's together with those that know us, study and learn about how to live with the Syndrome - otherwise life is often unbearable for all involved. Take it from me, I've been there.

It is even more crucial that people with Asperger's be assisted from an early age. Children with the Syndrome are most in need. They require help and support to get them through stages of life, school, growing up, understanding life and other people, puberty, relationships, the teenage years, etc. Without support they simply will not make it through life, not without everything going pear-shaped.

Bullying is my own major headache - I simply cannot cope with it at all. I never have been able to. It ruined my school years and has disrupted my adult life. Those who have been responsible for bullying me throughout my life know who they are. I just hope they realise the pain, anguish, upset, and mayhem they have caused to myself and others. Just because, unlike others, I don't usually retaliate in any way!

Luckily, of late, I've realised my potential as a film maker, writer, and caring person. Being at University helps a lot. The ability to make lots of new friends and to actually feel that people appreciate one's efforts is something that I've sadly not seen much of during my life prior to 2002. I'm acheiving realistic academic results at last, after a lot of wasted effort during my earlier life.
