Welcome to the website of the Altrincham Aardvarx Ice Hockey Club!
The Altrincham Aardvarx are a recreational non-checking ice hockey team, aimed at beginner-level adult players of both genders.
We started out at the Altrincham rink, and played there until the rink was closed down in March 2003.
We currently train at Blackburn Arena on Saturday nights, on the ice from 11.15pm to 12.45am,
and at the Altrincham Ice Dome on Wednesday nights, on the ice from 10.30pm to midnight.
"The Aardvarx started as a group of Adult Novices who managed to get some ice time to give this ice hockey thing a go.
That ethos has persisted and the training sessions are still run as a place where Adult Novices can come and try ice hockey."

27/09/08 - Richard Allan has resigned as General Manager. All duties and responsibilities have been passed on to Tim Norse.
02/09/08 - Richard Allan has resigned as Game Coordinator, and Kevin Rutter has taken the position.
25/08/08 - Due to the World Firefighters Games taking place at the rink this week, and also
due to the rink management forgetting to tell us this, our training session for Weds 27th August is cancelled.
We will be back on the ice on Weds September 3rd as normal.
The session on September 10th is cancelled due to the ice being relaid and repainted.
We will be back to normal from September 17th onwards.
13/08/08 - Cardiff Eagles have pulled out of this Sunday's game at Blackburn, leaving us with no choice but to cancel.
06/05/08 - Tim Norse has been appointed to the Committee following the departure of Adam McArdle. Welcome aboard, Tim!
05/05/08 - Adam McArdle has stepped down from the Committee due to other commitments. The Committee thanks him for his services and wishes him well.
02/04/08 - Tonight's training session at Alty has been cancelled. This is due to damaged ice which the rink staff are hoping to repair overnight. Normal training will resume next week.
24/03/08 - We now have a new Blackburn team photo, courtesy of Taz and his rather impressive camera!

25/02/08 - The Aardvarx Committee is pleased to welcome Mark Hathaway into its membership, following the stepping down
of Ian Merrick. The Committee would like to thank Ian for his work, and to welcome Mark aboard!
15/02/08 - The Aardvarx Committee is pleased to welcome its newest member Kevin Rutter, who has stepped up
to fill the vacancy left but the departure of Steve Polkinghorne.
12/02/08 - The Aardvarx Committee would like to extend our sincere thanks to Steve Polkinghorne, who has served on the Committee since
its creation but has had to step down due to work commitments. We all hope to see Steve on the ice
again soon, and are grateful for the service that he has shown our team over the years.
