Samples of my work

A foot in my world....

I've been debating about posting a likeness of me on this page but figured hey, I may end up on someone else's web site gushing about how Pnokuti has given me a six figure income. And I don't even know what Pnokuti is.

Agatha Christie my favourite author died in 1977. I was born that same year. Is that a good omen or a smirk in my face?

Uganda in 1977 was a firework of  dictators and ABBA style youth experiencing the hangover of the naughty sixties, but then I was too young to know. It did rub on to me though. ABBA is one of my favourite groups.

The events and people that I interact with always leave imprints in my life. Very often they become the situations and characters that influence my writing.

In my early 20s I had strong opinions about everything and that included the right clothes to wear to the right way to pray. And it was reflected in my writing, a narrator determined to give you the 10 point manual to correct living. Now that I have clearly crossed over to the next quarter in what I hope will be a century of living and good writing I tend to be more exploratory. I question why people do the things they do and why they say what they say. This view of life has provided more fodder for inspiration and allowed me to sample a million menus in just under 25 years.

So why am I studying Information Technology? I thrive on learning, that is,  practical disciplines that I can manipulate. (You cant exactly manipulate Napoleon.) Unless otherwise I intend to combine my Bachelors in Mass Communication with technical communication and make major earnings from that. Writing? I don't want it to be a job, ("groan, oh no 7am- time to wake up") it should ultimately become a delicious hobby I savour, monetary profits being a welcome by the way. Um if I had the bucks,  I would definitely try my hand at a course in makeup, dress-making, and, and and...I told you I loved variety.

Achilles heel? Ah its the heels, I love them. Can someone please describe how good feet look like? So yes, its shoes, uncommon clothes and good food. People I like? Those who are ok with admitting that they don't have all the answers.

And of course I suffer from  writers block which accounts for the gaping gaps in my literary experience. I've usually discovered that the only thing that can melt that block is being sure of yourself and your writing and knowing where you are going-all the way to the top.

Enough said...let's all pass this along, write often and write well. We might start a revolution here.
