This should be a link to The Junction, Peterborough's newest
sports lounge and nightclub, however they haven't deemed it
necessary to create a web site, so just go there and
enjoy!
Still waiting for a
team roster from Hanley so that I can update our roster at the bottom
to reflect all the new faces this year. Welcome
aboard!
This years schedule is now up on "schedule &
standings". So keep checking if you're not sure about game
times/locations. Also! At the
meeting a few weeks ago, we discussed further the idea of entering the
soccer tournament on July 18 - 20th in Montreal. We had unanimous
agreement that we all wanted to go (11 of us in attendance). That's
GREAT! However, there is a big difference between wanting to go
while having a few beers and actually committing time and money to the
idea. So start planning on getting the money together, i will
discuss with Biren and Hanley more about when $ would be due for this
tournament and post when i know.....lets not turn a good idea into a
"maybe next year"!!
By the looks of
the Montreal vote...we have 7 confirmed YES's. What might be nice is
if those people actually left a message in the forum to identify
themselves so that we could start counting numbers. We'll likely
need the money by the end of May and we'll be looking at a cost of around
200 per player for transportation, accomodation and registration....food
and beverages are
extra.
SoccerPlus International team, summer 2002, don't worry you English
fans, we're getting new jersey's this year so you can put your old Brasil
jersey's where they belong....in a shrine to be worshipped!
.
Montreal Tournament!
That's
right, there is a tournament in Montreal July from the 18th - 20th and
this year if we can get everyone on board with it early enough, we might
even make it! For those of you who were with us 3 years ago, we did
this tournament with a record of 0 - 2 - 1, BUT, and it's an important
but, we had a blast! (just ask Paul).
If we get enough guys
interested, we will figure out the cost at that time, but count on it
costing around $150+ per player inclusive (transportation, registration,
accomodation). Beveragation and food would be extra, so start
putting $10 a week away in a cookie jar now!
This is a great depiction of how some of our veterans stay in shape
during the off season!
Finally if I don't get this
website deleted by the providers for having pictures on it, I hope to
maybe have a picture rotation of a few "select" photos I have of our team
"gatherings"....thank God there were no cameras in
Montreal!
CONGRATULATIONS and welcome
back to Birdie and his beautiful new wife Karen! Hope
your ankle is better now and you'd better be there Fridays!
Maybe even some drinks and a few stories after the practice. (Sorry,
no wedding photos, the ones you sent didn't come through
properly)
