Bands
Most people seem to either adore or hate this band, anyone who's read my review of them will be able to guess which category I fall into... the website rocks too.
Click here for a great band, the weirdest forum in the history of the internet and photos of Yalson gurning at John Peel. Your life will be enriched.
"The best 5 piece, boy/girl, handclapping, 4 part harmonising, miaoowing, mooging, instrument swapping, audience participationing, indie-rock soopergroop in the ENTIRE ANIMAL KINGDOM!" Um, thanks Jooles.
Cool Manics site with huge and wonderful archives of lyrics and pictures. Any pics of MSP on this site are almost certainly stolen from Stay Beautiful, so thanks guys!
I just blew the last £17 in my bank account on Sing the Sorrow and can see myself becoming a scarily obsessed AFI fanatic. I'm not joining the fan club though...
Website of the Despair Faction
For those of you not ideologically opposed to fan clubs. Ooh, look, you get a t-shirt and everything!
Without a doubt the most rockin' thing in Bishop's Stortford, with their highly individual on-stage antics and dress sense, "unique blend of hard blues rock, progressive rock, ska and pop". We love Sanguinium and you should too.
"Plugged into their instruments and trapped in restrictive black suits Scarlet Soho are buzzing and bleeping with kinetic energy. Upfront and downtrodden, frozen images are carved out inthe eyes of others through brittle guitars and theou sounds of some kind of neo-futuristic metropolis. Deliberate outsiders screaming a detached social commentary - desperate, yet unemotional - pulling you in only so you can collapse again. Scarlet Soho are a sterile red against the grey backdrop of British suburban monotony: hospital cleanliness with a pulse."
Cool places to waste your time in
website of Manics-inspired fanzine REPEAT. Reviews, rants, features, gigs, lots of cool stuff *flatters in hope of a link*
Great art/cartoons site, work ranges from detailed art to line drawings to animations. The cartoon of the stick man spraypainting on my homepage is thanks to Badical artist Casey - cheers!
Adbusters are a political anti-capitalist campaign group specialising in Creative Resistance, educating people through art and humour with ironic fake adverts and sabotaging billboards.
"Random Thoughts on the Manic Street Preachers." A healthy dose of appreciative/contemptuous satire to drown out fan adoration. More bands should get the Mr Philip treatment!
Phil's new website with Seaneen - political satire stuff. Recent stories include "Heterosexual priests a disgrace, say Vatican" and "The Home Office announces new measures to stop 'theiving little cuntrags' from re-offending".
God only knows how Mr Martyn manages to write this many gig reviews and do this many interviews... great online fanzine featuring everyone from Jesse James to Coldplay
Collection of film & TV scripts and transcripts. Great for those days when you're skipping all your lessons to hide behind a computer...

You R Mung!
Spoof Manics fansite. Very, very, very, weird. Don't read it in a public place, say a library, because you WILL make hideous snorty laughing noises and everyone will stare at you.
You Are Lame
Replace the first 'you' in the URL with the name of the person you wish to insult. Turn your speakers up. Sit back and enjoy.
More coming soon...
