Welcome to the information site for the new Youngstown State University Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center

The project was finally approved this past year after a vote by the student population and several years of fundraising. With a budget of $12 million, it is hoped that this facility will provide a fully accessible recreational area for the student population.

One of the reasons behind the idea for the facility were the conflicts arising from athletic, academic and intramural schedules conflicting with the student's ability to use existing facilities for recreational activities. The new facility is being planned solely with student recreation in mind and, at this point, there will be no academic, athletic or intramural activities taking place during normal hours of operation.

As of right now the projected site for the facility is to be in conjunction with the western side of Kilcawley center and will likely consume approximately half of the staff parking lot currently in place there.

Naturally, a project of this scope does not come without some cost to the students and there will be an additional fee tacked onto tuition to help defray the cost of operation of the new facility.

So please, explore the site and feel free to contact the Campus Recreation Department with any concerns you may have concerning the project.
