Hong Kong Mainland The first 3 days of my trip were spent here, the Hong Kong mainland. The first place that I visited was the Man Mo Temple. The Man Mo temple was built in the 1840’s and is one of Hong Kong’s oldest and most atmospheric temples. The words ‘Man Mo’ mean civil and military, and the temple is dedicated to the God of Literature Man Cheong, as well as the God of War, Kuan Ti. There are huge coil like bells that hang from the ceiling when you enter, and the entire temple is smoky from all of the burning incense, creating a very dark atmosphere. After checking out all of the 19th century Chinese artifacts in the temple I decided to take a cab back to the hotel and sleep for the evening, all of the incense made me even more tired.
