Welcome to GEM and Advanced Seventh grade math. The school year 2004-2005 should be a challenging and rewarding. Always strive to do your best. Never accept anything less from yourself and you will succeed.
Seventh grade math is about teamwork. Your team will be made up of yourself, your parents and Mrs. Rubinstein. Remember this is your job. My job is to help you be successful at your job. Ask questions in class, do your homework and come to school everyday.
As you study mathematics you will understand the value and purpose of the concepts you are learning. Knowing why you are learning a concept helps you master it—and understand its relevance to your own life.
This year we will study Measurement, Number Sense, Algebraic Thinking, Data Analysis, and Geometry through problem solving.
