Ivan Ooze was a morphological being that first made his presence known 6,000 years ago. Ivan ruled the Earth with a reign of unparalleled terror, and was on the verge of completing his Ecto-Morphicon Titans, twin Zord-like machines, before being locked away in a hyperlock chamber by a group of young warriors. The chamber was burried underground, and there Ivan remained for sixty centuries. The land he was burried in eventually became Angel Grove, and eventually a construction crew came across Ivan's chamber. Zordon of Eltar, Ivan's age-old enemy, sent his Power Rangers to re-bury the chamber, but before they could do so, their nemesis Lord Zedd arrived at the construction site. Zedd opened the chamber and let Ivan Ooze back into the world. Commanded to destroy Zordon by Lord Zedd, Ivan was eager to oblige, and soon encountered the Power Rangers. Leaving them to battle his Oozemen, Ivan infiltrated the Command Center, damaging Alpha 5, mortally wounding Zordon, and leaving the Center in ruins.
Upon arriving at the Lunar Palace, Ivan quickly got rid of his would-be-masters, trapping Rita and Lord Zedd within a snowglobe. Taking Goldar and Mordant as his own minions, Ivan sent a flock of Tengu Warriors to destroy the powerless Rangers on the planet Phaedos. He then set up base on Earth in an old, worn-down factory, producing mind-controlling ooze. Using the children of Angel Grove, Ivan spread to ooze to the parents of the city, who then became his slaves. Ivan had the adults dig up the pieces of his Ecto-Morphicons. Soon enough, the machines were fully reconstructed and let loose on the city.
The Power Rangers, now powered by the Great Power of Phaedos, returned to Angel Grove and quickly encountered the Ecto-Morphicons. Ivan watched as his Ecto-Morphicons did battle with the Rangers' new Ninja Zords. Upon Scorpitron's destruction, an enraged Ivan Ooze combined with Hornitor, forming a metallic, insect-like version of himself. Ivan battled the Ninja MegaZord, and clearly had the upper hand against the machine. Lured into space by the Ninja Falcon MegaZord, Ivan nearly finished the Rangers, but was kicked into the path of Ryan's Comet. When Ivan and the comet collided, a massive explosion ensued, blasting Ivan into pieces.
