Graduate Student Investigated.

A first-year graduate has been allegedly involved with child pornography. Campus Police of the William & Mary College obtained the student's computer and Virginia State Police has issued a warrant to examine the contents of the computer.

So far, no charges have been brought forward, but according to officials, if there will be any charges to be brought upon the student, it is certain they will be severe. Campus Police was aware of the allegations when they were contacted by the District's Attorney Office of Orange County, California. A server containing child pornography had been confiscated and after having examined the server log files the authorities found the trails of the student by resolving his unique Internet Protocol (IP) address to his college username.

At this stage, investigation is still undergoing and therefore, it is not certain whether the student will be charged or if he is charged what the penalties will be. According to Virginia State law, penalties for such cases are severe and can result up to 10 years imprisonment. However, officials say that plenty of time is still required until they can examine all the clues and evidence.
