My mother called me today while I was at work. She was at work herself,
but desperately needed to tell me Gregory
Peck died today.
I think she thought I would be upset.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all about "To Kill A Mockingbird" and I agree
that he was a talented actor.
But, it's not like I knew him personally.
I will say that he was fortunate in that he died of natural causes at
the age of 87.
85-year-old Cornelia Meyer had to have her wheel-chair-bound (or is it
'mobility-impared'?) husband of 63 years suffocate her with a pillow:
Conn. man admits suffocating sick wife An
89-year-old man who suffocated his ailing, 85-year-old wife in what he
said was an effort to end her misery pleaded guilty in Bridgeport, Conn.,
to manslaughter. Marris Meyer, who is in a wheelchair, received a
three-year suspended sentence. Meyer told police that Cornelia Meyer, his
wife of 63 years, had begged him to help end her pain. She died March 24.
