For the Love of Hollywood
12 June 2003

My mother called me today while I was at work. She was at work herself, but desperately needed to tell me Gregory Peck died today.

I think she thought I would be upset.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all about "To Kill A Mockingbird" and I agree that he was a talented actor.

But, it's not like I knew him personally.

I will say that he was fortunate in that he died of natural causes at the age of 87.

85-year-old Cornelia Meyer had to have her wheel-chair-bound (or is it 'mobility-impared'?) husband of 63 years suffocate her with a pillow:

Conn. man admits suffocating sick wife An 89-year-old man who suffocated his ailing, 85-year-old wife in what he said was an effort to end her misery pleaded guilty in Bridgeport, Conn., to manslaughter. Marris Meyer, who is in a wheelchair, received a three-year suspended sentence. Meyer told police that Cornelia Meyer, his wife of 63 years, had begged him to help end her pain. She died March 24.

What I Like About Alcohol:

  • The way my head feels oh-so-light
  • Four words: Rap and Hip-Hop
  • That nice, warm feeling down in my cockles
  • The speed at which I can type
  • Inhibitions? What inhibitions?

    What I Dislike About Alcohol:

  • Getting over the gag reflex
  • How I have to get real close to my monitor in order to read what I'm typing
  • The Hangover
  • When the room spins
  • When the room doesn't stop spinning
  • Hey, didn't I have, like, at least six unsmoked cigarettes in my case just fifteen minutes ago?
  • Loosing the buzz and having to drink more
  • When the urge to shake my ass hits, and I'm no where near a (decent) club
  • Breaking the Seal
