Bio:
After cutting his teeth on hip-hop throughout the 80’s, Sean was exposed to UK Rave and Hardcore records in the early 90’s. His curiosity evolved as quickly as early hardcore ravers morphed in to the seminal Jungle movement. Soon an obsession bloomed to learn more about the newly emerging music and its culture. After a three year odyssey through the clubs of Central Florida, being exposed to some of the finest music and djs of the world in clubs like Firestone and Simon’s / Soulhouse in Gainesville, he emerged with a desire to move from the floor to the booth with the drum & bass style.
Since 1998, when he purchased his first set of turntables, he has made nearly 40 drum & bass compilations. He began his mix tape outings under the Osiris alias, mainly due to his love of the Wu-Tang Clan’s Ol’ Dirty Bastard (also known as Osiris). After moving to Bloomington, IN (to complete a degree in Art History), he started a radio show called ‘The Saturday Nite Rinseout’ at WFHB 90.1 that ran from October of 1999 to October 2000. He has also been featured at club dates and raves such as Sagittarius in Indianapolis and Ultra Violet in Bloomington as well as numerous private parties. 2001 was a stellar year –the crowning achievement being the Decksterity International Winner Award in Knowledge UK (see below). In 2003 alone he’s made some of his best mixes to date and is entering into the world of studio technology.
Decksterity Mixtape article-
From the October 2001 issue of Knowledge:
"Once again we're stateside, rollin with the d&b vibez as supplied by
Osiris. An ex-radio DJ in the field of jazz, reggae, hip hop and drum &
bass, Seanie Mack is in the process of - oh yes - building a studio and
accompanying website, www.studiochud.com, which will feature
downloadable mixes from the man himself. Here, we find Osiris in the mix
on two CDs of outstanding quality, entitled 'Cosmic Slop' and 'Black
Power'. Both are on a similar dark-edged, rollin tip with a nice balance
of old skool noize and classy vocal; the tuffness supplied by the likes
of Digital, Full Cycle and Hardware, sandwiched around recent cuts from
J Majik, Intalex and Aquasky. The overall effect is undeniably rooted in
the dancehall, although it makes for quality home listening material
too…promoters - you know what's up! Put the man on big dog style..."
