The Central Alliance Party
believes in transcending political ideologies in order to produce the best
policies for making Britain a better and fairer place.
The Central Alliance Party was founded in
2002. We are a political party in the United Kingdom. We do not ascribe to any
particular political ideology, but we try to take the best aspects of each
ideology in order to form a kind of hybrid ideology. In this, we
believe that we can offer the best set of policies to improve the
UK. Our core beliefs are as follows:
-
No single political
ideology carried out in it's purest form can ever be successful
(Communism and Thatcherism being two examples of this).
This is probably our most fundamental belief. It has been
proved throughout history that trying to apply one ideology to a
country in it's purest form does not work. Communism failed in
the Soviet Union; Pure socialism, which in effect existed in the UK
between 1945 & 1979, failed; Thatcherism, which followed
socialism, has failed. These are only a few examples of the
failure of pursuing a pure ideology. CentrAll seeks to apply a
mixture of ideologies, taking the best aspects of each.
-
Social problems cannot
be separated from economic problems. Problems in society cause
problems in the economy and vice versa. Eradication of poverty
would virtually eradicate problems such as crime, and eradicating
social problems would have a very beneficial effect on the economy.
This is another of our most fundamental beliefs. When you
look at the areas with the highest crime rates in the UK, you find
that they also have the most poverty and the highest
unemployment. It is impossible to separate poverty and deprivation
from problems (particularly crime) in society. The British
economy has failed the poorest in society, and in turn the poorest are
failing the economy. If the problem of poverty could be
addressed, the cost to the state caused by crime could be reduced, and
the unemployed could be put to good use by working. This would
benefit both the economy and those who are unemployed.
-
Everyone will get back
what they contribute to society many times over.
Even if people put just a little into society, they will get
benefits. By helping others, people also help themselves.
-
Each member of society
has a duty to look after the other members. This is not just
socialism it is common sense.
-
Those who are rich
have a duty to help those who are worse off than themselves. In
the long run this brings benefits to all people.
Because so many problems in society are caused by poverty and desperation,
the rich would benefit from helping the poorest in society because
they would not be the victims of so much crime. The rich would
also benefit from the more prosperous economy caused by reducing
unemployment and getting more people into work.
-
We need wealth
creation before wealth redistribution, but never wealth creation on
its own. Similarly, we need self-help before state help, but
never self-help on its own.
It is impossible to redistribute wealth that has not already been
created, and it is important that people have incentives to create
wealth. But without a certain amount of wealth redistribution
inequality becomes unacceptable.
-
No one must be denied
the right to self-improvement, but those who improve themselves have a
duty to help others improve themselves.
-
If we look after our
environment, it will look after us. If we do not look after our
environment, it will destroy us.
The environment will soon be the most important problem facing the
human race. If we do not take steps to reduce damage to it, it
will destroy us. Action must be taken now, for it will be too
late when the damage has been done.
-
Short term pain for
long term gain.
Long time benefits are usually far greater than short term losses.
-
Everyone is born with
both rights and responsibilities and both are equally important.
We live in a country where everyone seems to know their rights but
few seem to know their responsibilities. Rights are important,
but responsibilities are just as important.
These core beliefs show a
mixture of socialist, capitalist and green thinking. They are
incorporated into our Party constitution.
