Chinese    Zodiac

Assuming you don't know about the Chinese Zodiac, and how it works I'll give a short explanation ( I wont go in to great detail ).

 There's a 60 year cycle made up of five 12 year cycles, attached with each year is an element:

Earth    Metal    Water    Wood    Fire

The elements alternate every 12 years. For example: 

RAT Years 

 Earth 1948    Metal 1960    Water 1972    Wood 1984    Fire 1996

 Each year is named after an animal, beginning with the Rat year and ending with the Pig year:

As shown above, every 4 years is part of a group, for example: Tiger, Horse, and Dog.

The animals within these groups have the greatest Compatibility / Affinity with each other.

However, those animals directly across from each other in the zodiac cycle have most Incompatibility / Enmity.

For example: Rat and Horse are in opposition.
