Surf Report - May 25, 2003

surfshot.com sez, (my comments in bold, italics):

Waves breaking at the usual spot, at the inside and mostly for the left.

BA sez: Usual spot "at the inside" is very true - remember kids, WindanSea is known for its shorebreak.

Steep drop and it goes smaller after that.

Sounds like the Pipeline to me.

It is not a long ride and the water looks almost glassy.

Nothing better than riding "almost glassy" shorebreak - for a short distance.

Can be better at low tide (12:44 pm) if gets hollow.

It can be, or it will be - Stay Home -

Waves size: Knee high

Sets size: Waist high

Sets Interval: 6-7 min.

Surfers Out: 5 guys

======================

The guy on the yellow board is one of our Reservation Checkers / Time Monitors -
Obviously, the inside guy's time had expired!

======================

Wind: Calm

Weather: Cloudy skies

This is the BEST it ever gets here!
If you don't live here, don't surf here. The locals are hostile. The surf sucks!

What I say:

No surfing today for me.

"Hey BA you slacker - Are you ever gonna finish the things you've started on this stupid site?"

I say:
Actually - I've had to help one of you kooks with an assignment - I'll crib the assignment later today!

Waves weren't good enough to risk breaking my 52 Nitro-Blasted Blisters, and exposing my raw, pink skin to the polluted So-Cal water.

Stay home - I did.

- The waves suck - The locals are always polluted - The water is always hostile -

Later,

BA

Oops Forgot Some Stuff:

Thought I'd better add some disclaimers:

* All of the tales I'm spinning are based upon facts of some sort.
* Most of the tales will be at least 50% factual.

I'm doing this web thing for a few reasons, and it is, and will be, "a work in progress" for a while:

1. It's an easy way for me to organize my "autobiography" so my kids will know a bit more about me.
2. I find this computer and internet stuff fascinating.
3. I was lucky to be able to start surfing - at least in my opinion - in the "Golden Age" of surfing - I do have some yarns to spin regarding those times.
4. This is an efficient way for some of the old guys to touch bases again - I've received a few e-mails from old (err, long-time) friends I've haven't seen in forty years or so - I think that's way cool.
5. I'm still surfing almost every day - and, at least in my opinion - that's a pretty "boss" thing to write about.
6. I think it will be nice, in a couple of years, to maybe look back at how good - or bad - the surf was in any given stretch of time.
