SURF SYNOPSIS:
The nearshore buoys are up about 50% from yesterday and from the W-NWDIV>(~280-285 degrees),
but virtually all the energy is short period (4-10s).
Offshore buoy readings are also up and short period--but more
northerly (310-320 deg.).
Water temperatures are also up a bit.
These short period waves should peak this morning, fade a little,
then rebuild tonight.
A new N (304 deg) swell should start building today,
peaking midday tomorrow. This may be too N for much of the energy to
reach North County.
A weak S-SW begins on Saturday, while the N swell continues to fade.
Santa Ana winds may also develop Saturday (perhaps earlier) and continue
through Sunday.
Late Sunday a weak S-SW swell begins. Then a day later (Monday evening),
a second, and more significant S-SW ("New Zealand") swell begins
arriving (20+ sec period @ 199 degrees).
That will be building into Tuesday morning (which is as far as the current prediction extends)
--but I expect that it will continue building Tuesday, perhaps peaking Wednesday (should have
a better idea by tomorrow's report).

What I say:
The Wiz's right on with his surf call.
Very close interval north swell, tide's too high but should be good later.
I'm gonna try to go to The Shores at lunch.
Later,
BA
