April 27, 2004 - Wind**Sea, another Comstock moment - and a surf stoked report from last night!

I should-da surfed last night - all I heard this morning was how good it was - I guess Joel Tudor was ripping B** R**k, after he surfed Wind**Sea -

Anyway this morning:

Surf was good today - Wind**Sea again -

With the added bonus that -

Comstock ate s*** again!

The good thing about surfing with Comstock is that if the opportunity to get wiped-out occurs, and if I don't take advantage of it [wipe-out opportunity], then Comstock will.

This morning I debated whether or not to surf Wind**Sea,  B** R**k,  H****s, or  Li**le P***t.

I ended up at Wind**Sea, caught a couple of okay waves - and on a pretty big right, I pussed-out and kicked-out of the wave. Naturally, my puss-out was witnessed by Dale, and a host of others.

"Pull in, you p***y" became the call words - aimed at me - of the morning.

Anyway, back to Comstock -

Comstock paddled-out later, his hair was wet so I knew he musta paddled-out south of the shack - big mistake on a south swell.

Then we sat - and sat - for about 45 minutes.

Comstock was the farthest one out - set came -

I saw the first wave, and towering above the first one, was the second wave.

There was no way I could make it over wave numero uno - much less numero dos, so I did what I do best - turned tail and headed for shore.

Luckily, the first wave broke about 50 yards outside of where I was, so I held on and white watered it all the way to the beach.

I figgered Comstock probably got killed by the second wave - but - maybe he made it over the wave, or maybe he took-off on it??

I washed in, said a few greetings to the guys going out, and then looked at the rip just north of Turtles.

There was Comstock - hanging on to his stick - sideways.

He made it in, finally, and said that he got pitched and dragged about 100 yards underwater.

Way cool!!!

It should be bigger tomorrow!

How good was it yesterday afternoon??

- This message just came in from a friend, I hope he doesn't mind that I used his report, but his stoke was real, and I'm sure that last night's experience is one that he'll remember for the rest of his life -

- I know that I still remember epic days at the LJ Reefs and Black's -

Last night's report - f-bomb - censored because I use angelfire, and not my own domain name - and if I don't censor, angelfire will -

The ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

5:30 p.m. post work session...going OFF!

I got the best wave I've had at Wind***** last night in the last 10 years. Holy SH**!!!!!!! Almost got thrown up on the sandstone rocks right in front of

the middle staircase because I rode it from so far south and outside the shack....the shacked looked like a little anthill! My left of the spring...holy mackeral - 15 foot on the face, all the way across, and almost tossed onto the huge boulders in the water just off the shore because the sand hasn't come in yet! Oh my god, I almost started f-king crying paddling back out because it was such a good wave. Holy mackeral!!!!!!

Everywhere was ROCKING from GREEN****to BIR******. 4-5-6-7-8....that's how fast it came up in the evening with the tide....it was so awesome.

I was sitting up on the rail for a while after sunset dripping and stoked. I wanted to pick out some of your buddies. There were two guys there wearing red windansea surf club windbreakers. 30 somethings. And brown corduroy shorts. Looked pretty heavy to me. God**** it was so good!

The rock was exploding. It was unbelievable."
