South wind - North swell - gee - where to go?
It's gotta be The Shores...
Nice wave size - good wind speed and direction
- BUT - I just gotta finish this leash rant -
I'm trying to make a "positive" out of a "negative."
I wanna save you beginners [and kooks] some money - big $$ because you're always breaking your leashes!
It's as easy as 1 - 2 - 3!
1. Paddle around the break - if you get caught inside or paddling-out, don't ditch your board - hang on!
If you can't hang on, then you shouldn't be out in the water anyway.
2. Look right - look left - look forward, BEFORE you paddle for a wave - don't get in the way, and then jump-off your board to avoid a collision.
3. Learn how to kick-out, pull-out of a wave when your ride is over.
Don't jump-off and depend upon your leash to bring your board back to you.
The more you jump-off your boards, and you're depending upon your leash to save you, the more stress you're putting on your leash!
"Duh, BA, so what's your point?"
My point is simply - if you kooks are gonna surf with the big boys - then don't kill 'em [the big boys] because your leash breaks and your board then becomes an unguided missile
- and -
then I, or some other surfer, has to rescue you - taking up our valuable surf time!
Stay home, or surf at Tourmaline...it's always good there, and you guys can ram each other with impunity!
Later,
BA
