Baden Stein

Presumably still before 1000 a castle originated on the cliff burr of the castle mountain. On whose order it was established, is unclear; probably these were the counts of castle Nellen, the rulers at that time of the Zurich region. In 1077 she reached in the Investiturstreit in the possession of the Lenzburger. Before 1127 it came to a division of the Lenzburger rule: Arnold II and his descendants called himself counts of Baden. After the extinction of the natives of Baden line of the Lenzburger in 1172 the counts of castle Ky started the inheritance, 1264, in the end, the Habsburgs. As the house archive of the Habsburgs in which the most important documents were kept the stone developed to a significant administrative center in the prelanding. Resulted Habsburg Urbar is worth mentioning in particular 1303/07.
