Tripp's Music Audio Tapes and DJ Service
I am a DJ at School Dances, Birthday Parties, or any other special occasion that is centered around children in the Middle School or Jr. High age group (Ages 10-15). I have pretty much every kind of music you can think of except Country. I can do any type of theme party like a 70's theme or and 80's theme party I have the music for that. I still mostly use tapes since that is what I have the most of, and these are good quality tapes that were bought in the store, and they are not cheaply recorded onto recording tapes. All of my tapes are first class, and the music is edited or clean (if needed) for the age level. I always take that in consideration.
School Dances:
I usually charge $50 for equipment rental and $50 an hour. Ex: 1 hour = $100, 2 hours = $150, 3 hours = $200
Birthday Parties:
Birthday Parties or other get togethers usally run about $10-$15 an hour because they are more low key and only require a home stereo system, which in that case I don't charge for equipment rental either. Ex: 1 hour = $10-$15, 2 hours = $20-$30, 3 hours = $30-$45
References:
The biggest refernces I have is Opp Middle School. I have been the DJ for their dances since February 1995. They will tell you I am really good. The other one I have is Fleeta Jr. High. I did a dance for them in February 1999 and other than some technical problems that were straightened out later went very well too.
Equipment Rental:
I usually rent my equipment from Dyess Music center in Opp, Alabama. I have rented from him since I started in 1995. He is very good and I have never had any problems with his equipment. Also, I would need about a weeks notice, if equipment rental is needed, to inform him that I will be coming to rent from him.
Home System:
I usually use my home system that I have for Birthday Parties. It has a tape deck and CD deck and detachable speakers, and sounds really good.
PA = Has the Parental Advisory Label on it on albums such as Nelly, Eminem, Outkast, Ludacris, Kid Rock, Uncle Kracker, and 8 Mile's Soundtrack (I always carry an Edited or Clean Version of the songs that are popular to use when there are kids involved.)
If I have an entire album that is edited it is listed with (Edited Version) beside it.
Most of the time I wait for compilation albums to come out such as Now or Totally Hits that have alot of the good songs on them, and the songs that contain explict words are always edited on these albums.
Here is the list of music that I use at the dances I do, and I don't always bring every tape such as Jimmy Buffett I usually don't take him to play at dances. Most of the stuff I take is the Popular groups and singers that the kids are into like Eminem, Limp Bizkit, Jay-Z, Beyonce Knoles, Britney Spears, Nelly, and Kid Rock etc, and now that I have a CD burner I have tons of songs from all eras (1950's-Now) that are not listed below.
