Welcome to Slinky Link Miniature Dachshunds . Thank you for taking interest in our dachshunds (a.k.a our children!!). All dachshunds are proudly Texas AGGIE owned and raised. We are very proud to offer you the opportunity to own a dog from such an exceptional breed. Dachshunds have always been a part of our family. I purchased my very first dachshund when I was 5 with rolled pennies that I had saved and it was worth it. I named him Slinky Link and he was my pride and joy. He won several local show awards including obedience and Best of Show. I am proud to say his line is still carried on today. His conformation and intelligence can be seen in Waddles and Begonia and now Begonia's new little girls Zinnia and Magnolia. Because of our love for this breed we decided to offer others with the opportunity to enjoy it as well. We have recently expanded our dachshund family to include a variety of colors, coats, and patterns. They are all unique in their own ways and each of our dachshunds and their puppies have a special place in our hearts.

About Us

To tell you a little about me I grew up in Nacogdoches, TX and I am one of 4 children. I am a member of the Fightin' Texas Aggie Class of 2002 and 2004 with a Bachelors Degree in Animal Science and a Masters in Animal & Human Nutrition from Texas A&M University. I am currently employed as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative for Abbott Laboratories. I have always had a strong love for animals and their well being. You can ask my parents, I brought home several strays. I have always had a large animal family and have raised and shown dogs, horses, cats, rabbits, pigs, sheep, cows, and several other exoctic pets. I worked for several veterinarians over the years and I have taken that knowledge from my experience and education and applied that to my dachshunds health and well being. With a little help from my family we strive to produce dachshunds with excellent conformation, color, personalities, and bloodlines.

Our Adult Dogs

All of my dachshunds are spoiled rotten and they will tell you so in a heart beat. They are raised in a heated and cooled facility. Two dogs are in each pen to keep each other company. They have a big fenced in play area with plenty of toys. Some of the cages also have mini swimming pools because a few really like the water. Their pens are cleaned twice a day. They always have plenty of fresh water and food. All dogs are vaccinated annually for Distemper Parvo (DLPPV), Bordatella (Kennel Cough), and Rabies. Every month Advantage or Frontline flea prevention is applied and Ivermectin heartworm prevention is given to our adults. They all have AVID Microchips. And of course they all receive lots of TLC. Pregnant females are kept in our home so that they can receive extra pampering before the pups arrive.

Our Puppies

Our puppies are raised in our home underfoot and come pre-spoiled. They are well socialized with other dogs, pets, and kids. We start paper training them at 4 weeks. They are dewormed at 2, 4 , & 6 weeks with Strongid-T or Panacur. The pups are vaccinated for DAPPV at 6 & 8 weeks. They will need two more DALPPV boosters, a rabies, and bordetella vaccination after they go to their new home. Vaccinations need to be given once a year there after. We proudly feed our puppies Eukanuba Puppy small bites. It is a well balanced diet that contains adequate amounts of omega-3 & omega-6 fatty acids and DHA. All of which are essential for physical & mental developement. All pups are sent to their new home with a puppy kit that includes a food sample, pig skin chew bone, blanket, toy, and helpful training & nutritional information. Puppies are sold with Limited or Full AKC (American Kennel Club) registration papers. With Limited papers the puppy is sold as a pet which means it can't be bred and entry into some show events is limited. We also require the pet to be spayed or neutered when it comes of age, this is requested in the best interest of the puppy. With Full registration the new owner will be able to show or breed the dog. They also come with a health guarantee, you can view it by clicking the contract button on the home page.

Our Veterinarians are Dr. Bob Stout and Dr. Cheryl Russell at North St. Veterinary Clinic in Nacogdoches. I worked for this clinic while in college. If you would like to inquire to them about my dogs you may call (936)569-9516 and ask to speak with Cindy Sestak (clinic manager).
