In Loving Memory
Shadey Limuel Hester
August 18,1985-March 26,2006

Shadey left us on March 26, 2006, to start his new life with God in heaven. As the last man standing, always extending a helping hand, Shadey was a quiet and ever-present friend. The force of his laughter enveloped quiet times, and he was a man willing to give everything he had to those around him. Though reserved and unassuming, he drew friends like a magnet. He also enjoyed spending time with them and his family, who describe him as polite and well-mannered. A silent leader with a compassionate heart, Shadey could be counted on as a kind and empathetic leader. Whether he was on the ball field, in the show ring or at work, Shadey exhibited motivation and determination that set him apart.

Born Aug. 18, 1985, in Nacogdoches, he loved doing anything outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Not unexpectedly, Shadey followed in his father's footsteps with a love for mechanics. They spent countless hours together repairing and specializing his Z-71 Chevy pickup. He was also called upon often by friends to help them with their own automobiles and trucks. A 2004 graduate of Garrison High School, Shadey was active in academics, sports and extracurricular activities. He was named to Who's Who Among American High School Students for four years; was on the National Dean's List; was named to the National Society of High School Scholars; and won numerous other awards. As a captain of the 2003 2A State Football Championship team, he was also selected to the Academic All State Football Team by the Texas High School Coaches Association. He won the Farm Bureau Outstanding Student Farmer of the Year award in 2001 and was the Garrison FFA Outstanding Service Award winner. In addition, Shadey held several leadership positions as president or team leader in numerous clubs and organizations. He was also the recipient of many major scholarships and attended Texas A&M University.

Shadey blessed his family and friends with almost 21 great years, touching the lives of everyone in his own special way. He leaves us to spend eternity with his MomiO, MeMaw and many other loved ones, and leaves behind a devoted family who feels very fortunate to have had God share Shadey's life with them. They include his parents, Tana and Vernon Hester, who will forever recall Shadey's quiet demeanor and stoic strength; sisters Shea, Shaleah and Shyrah who remember a pestering little brother who loved them dearly and who would be there any time they called. Shea and husband, Jason Sprayberry, will forever keep in mind their son, Huntter's, "Guncle" Shadey, while Shaleah envisions a little brother and friend who was a constant source of entertainment and, at times, consternation. And Shyrah will always cherish the special relationship she had with her little brother. By friends, Shadey will always be remembered as the life of the party and a genuine friend who always put them first. To his family, Shadey was his mother's baby boy, his father's long-awaited little cowboy, his sisters' caring and protective brother, Grandad and PawPaw's cherished grandson, a fun-loving cousin, a nephew with a ready hug, and the one and only "Guncle" Shadey to Huntter, his favorite nephew. We miss you, Shadey. We all hope we can bring as much joy and love to others as you brought to us. You'll always be our Cowboy. As Grandad says,

"See ya' down the road."

Thank you for everyones kind words, thoughts, hugs, and prayers during this difficult time. We look to you to help us remember the good times we had with Shadey, the ways he made us laugh, and his unforgetable smile.

Not a day goes by that you don't cross my mind. Everyday I look at Sunflower and I know she is the only good thing that came out of the day you left us. An Angel left us and an Angel was born. I even named her in your memory "Slinky's Sunflower from Shadey". I miss you Shadey but I will see you again.
