August 2nd was a memorable day when Morris pulled a Ruston 88ds shunter back to Ruddington from the British Gypsum factory at Rushcliffe Halt. This was the first loco delivered to Ruddington by rail.

The 88DS was donated to the Simplex Association by British Gypsum at East Leake where it had stood for 11 years un-used and getting slowly buried in gypsum.

The Ruston was duly named MARBLAEGIS at the British Gypsum gala at East Leake on Saturday June 8th and a great day was had by all. It will be returning to Rushcliffe Halt platform on diesel gala weekend, July 20/21st when it is hoped brake-van rides will be available.
