An iMac computer beside the title: Rob's Web Design Site

Pages from a web design class

Flash 5 examples: Here are the movies with shape tween, motion tween, and layers and guide layers.

Java toys: You know that Java is not JavaScript, and Java applets can be embedded in web pages. But what about the details? Here is a brief introduction to applets with three applets you can download and use. (For more applets, try the Java Boutique or any of numerous other Java sites.)

Windows XP users: Early releases of WinXP did not support Java, thanks to Microsoft’s vendetta against Java’s developer, Sun Microsystems. If you find that Java applets won’t work in your browser, you probably need to download the Java virtual machine from Sun. Microsoft did begin including Java support in WinXP this summer, but said it will permanently remove Java from Windows after January 2004. In the meantime they are trying to replace Java with a proprietary language called Visual J# .NET.

New browser versions: Opera 7.0 for Windows is now available. Mozilla.org has released version 1.2 of its open-source browser.
