CANDI CARPENTER

Nashville has been captivated and mesmerized by an incredible young singer whose outstanding talent has turned heads and raised eyebrows everywhere she’s performed. The crowds first warm up to her enchanting smile and serene beauty, then become totally enthralled by her tremendously powerful voice and magnetic stage presence.

Candi Carpenter is like nothing Nashville has ever seen. Possessed of a grace and charm that is refreshingly genuine, she has developed into a dynamic performer who can energize a crowd with vocal stylings that must truly be heard to be believed. Whether she's wringing every last drop of emotion from a country music ballad, or singing her own compositions, Candi’s amazing vocal range and power-packed delivery leave the audience screaming for more.

Her ever-growing list of accomplishments, and the star-studded list of country music greats with whom she’s performed, seem hardly possible for some one who has just turned 19. Her maturity and calm self-assurance on stage are a testament to the savvy professional she’s become.

The incomparable Jack Greene, Grand Ole Opry legend and multiple CMA award-winner, has featured Candi on his "Yesterday and Today Show" for the last three years. As Jack & Candi have toured around the country, fans are taken down memory lane by Jack’s timeless voice as he brings his multiple #1 hits to life, then treated to Candi’s amazing renditions of country music’s beloved standards. Invariably, they bring the house down as they come together later in the show to perform as a duet. The tremendous success of this show was the inspiration for Candi’s first CD entitled "Yesterday and Today," and, in a neat reversal of roles, features Jack Greene as her guest.

Candi has shown herself to be a multi-faceted talent, with a gift for writing as well as performing. She co-wrote "Red, White & Blue Christmas" for Jack’s recently-released Christmas CD, a song with a patriotic flavor that will undoubtedly become a holiday standard due to the emotional, heart-tugging connection she draws to a young soldier "half a world away" from the fond memories of Christmas past. The song was debuted by Jack on the Grand Ole Opry in December of 2003, and performed once again in 2004, each rendition resulted in thunderous applause and standing ovations! This singer/songwriter/musician continues to grow in her talents and experience. Candi is currently co-writing with Eddie Bayers. Candi has also written a sultry, steamy new song with a Cajun-flavored beat that will be featured on her next project, currently being produced by Nashville’s fast-rising 2 Monkeys Productions. She has also recorded with the Dance Hall Doctor’s, Tim McGraw’s famous band.

In her brief career, Candi has been on radio, television, and stage, and performed with a veritable "Who’s Who" within the country music industry. As early as 11 years of age, she shared the stage with Vince Gill, and treated the crowd to a rendition of "Cowboy Sweetheart" that featured yodeling reminiscent of the great Patsy Montana. A frequent performer on the Midnight Jamboree, she has appeared with Billy Walker, Jan Howard, the Carol Lee singers and, during a Jamboree tribute to Ernest Tubb, with Jack Greene and Cal Smith. In addition, she appeared with George Hamilton IV at the Nashville Cowboy Church.

Candi has been no stranger to Nashville’s own WSM radio station, receiving airplay for a number of her cuts from the "Yesterday and Today" CD, and a duet she performed with Jack Greene on his "Green Christmas" CD. She has also performed live on WSM’s "Kevin Lee Show".

Among her television credits are the Nashville Morning Show, hosted by Charlie Chase on Fox channel 17, where she appeared with Jack Greene and Robbie Witkowski. She also performed on Jimmy Snow’s Gospel Country Show, which has a viewing audience of some 30 million people across the country. Finally, she also appeared on the Nashville Country Connection variety show, along with T. Graham Brown, Jack Greene and Jo-el Sonnier.

Candi’s star quality has been honed in several different environments during the development of her career. In addition to performing at ‘writer’s nights’ with the likes of Billy Montana, Don Ellis and Steve Dean, she’s also performed at the famed "Bluebird Cafe," singing her own compositions to an appreciative audience. She's had the pleasure of singing with the "Players" at 3rd and Lindsley, featuring some of the finest studio musicians in Nashville. In 2003, she was the Grand Prize winner of the Nashville Country Show, beating out over 300 contestants. The year before, she became a fan favorite over 10 gruelling weeks of competition, winning the Broken Spoke Talent Contest over another group of 300 aspiring singers.

As Candi’s incredible talent is recognized throughout the country music industry, she is increasingly being called on to perform on various Opry Legend-based shows, and other concert venues; Such as Ponderosa Park in Ohio, with Jack Greene, Tommy Overstreet, and Billy "Crash" Craddock. That performance was on the heels of the City Lights Festival benefit in Commerce, Ga. hosted by the incomparable Bill Anderson. Candi shared the stage with Mel Tillis, Darryl Worley, Jack Greene, Bill Anderson, and Jan Howard, and was treated to a standing ovation from a boisterous and appreciative crowd of thousands. Her performance at the "Dinner With the Stars" show preceding the concert, was so well-received that she was awarded a "Key to the City."

There is no doubt that Candi Carpenter is destined to become a shooting star in the Nashville sky. Her fluid moves, effortless delivery, vivacious personality, incredible vocal range, and on-stage savvy, show her to be the true professional that she’s become. As one of country music’s up-and-coming artists, she has the "star quality" that will help carry the torch to a new generation of country music fans, while preserving the remarkable heritage of country music’s magnificent past.
