Shoots too much. Has a nice midrange game, unlike many college players, and he should adjust to the NBA 3 line pretty well. A bit of a scary pick, because he's so focussed on scoring. If he can't be instant offense in the NBA he might not contribute at all.

 Strengths of Courtney Alexander

Explosive athlete who can put up points in bunches. He has good range on his jumper, is quick enough to get by defenders and fast enough to be a huge asset for a running team. Has the build to excel at 2-guard in the big leagues. Is viewed by some as a "sleeper" even though he will be a lottery selection because he can come in and have a big impact on a team right away.

Weaknesses of Courtney Alexander

Not a brilliant defender and won't be confused for a point guard. Courtney is a big scorer but is he too selfish? That's what some say. As a junior he refused to play two games which will have most scouts working hard on character backgrounds. Those from Virginia, where Alexander played previously only to transfer to Fresno State in September of 1997, say the same since he was convicted of assaulting his girlfriend/the mother of his child and sentenced to four days in jail back in August of that year
