Born April 27, 1977, in Bridgeport, Conn. ? son of Allana and Joseph
Alexander ? has two brothers and one sister ? his brother, Andre, played
basketball at Norfolk State University.
High School:
Graduated from Jordan High School in Durham, N.C. in 1995 ? was the
state of North Carolina's Gatorade Player of the Year as a senior in
addition to earning third-team All-America recognition from BlueChip and
Parade magazines ? as a senior, averaged 30.7 ppg, 9.1 rpg and 3.1 apg ?
ended his career as Jordan High's all-time leading scorer (2,087
points), which included a school single-season mark of 797 points his
senior year ? averaged 26.1 ppg and 6.2 rpg for his prep career ? was a
two-time first-team All-State selection (junior and senior years) and a
second-team All-State choice as a sophomore ? played in both the Capital
Classic and Converse All-Star games ? selected to play in the Albert
Schweitzer International Youth Tournament in Germany in 19944, helping
the U.S. team to the World Championship. |
