Note from Jim:
I wanted to thank Pastor Chad and The Christian Journal for including a big announcement in the current (July) issue to help get the word out about our upcoming mini Evangelism Boot Camp.

Scripture of the Week:
Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies." (John 11:25, NASB)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Quote of the Week:
“It is my opinion that tens of thousands of people, if not millions, have been brought into some kind of religious experience by accepting Christ, and they have not been saved.” (A. W. Tozer)

Evangelism Resource:
Here's a great booklet by Greg Koukl from Stand to Reason.
If there was one bit of wisdom, one rule of thumb, one single skill I could impart, one useful tip I could leave that would serve you well the rest of your life, what would it be? What is the single most important practical skill I’ve ever learned as a Christian? Never read a Bible verse. That’s right, never read a Bible verse. Instead, always read a paragraph (at least) if you want to unlock the meaning of a passage.

Questions & Objections:
This O&A comes from The Evidence Bible.
O. "Adam was a mythical figure who never really lived."
A. Adam is a key figure in Scripture. He is described as the "first Adam," the one who brought sin into the world. He made it necessary for Jesus, the "last Adam," to atone for all humans, and then rise from the grave with the promise of complete redemption for fallen man and fallen creation. If Adam was just a myth, we would not be able to fully understand the work of Jesus. If Adam and Eve were not real, then we ought to doubt whether their children were real too, and their children... and then we ought to doubt the first 11 chapters of Genesis, and so on. All the genealogies accept Adam as being a literal person, so their children Cain and Abel (Genesis 4:9,10; Luke 11:50,51) must be real too. Jesus was descended from Adam, and it is impossible to be descended from a myth.

Weekly "Fishing" Report:
Tuesday (July 4th). my family went to the Josephine County celebration here in Grants Pass. My dad's band was slated to be the final act on stage prior to the main fireworks display. This was a big deal, since they're a Christian band. Similar to the group Apologetix, they take classic hits (Blues Bros, Jimi Hendrix, James Brown, etc.) and "redeem" them by changing the lyrics.
After we arrived and got our seats, I began my tract sweep. I pulled out two packs of Giant $100s, draped a dozen or so over my arm so people could see them unfolded and began passing through the crowd. After handing out the first few, hands began popping up all over. Kids and adults started flocking me. When I crossed in front of the grand stand, people were hanging over the railing asking for tracts. I ran out of the Giant $100s before I could complete my first pass. I then broke out the Million Dollar Bills. When I headed up into the grand stand, it was more of the same. Hands were going up all over the place asking for them. People were coming to me, and at times all I could do was stand still and put tracts in the hands they were holding out.
I'd noticed two officers from the sherrif's department standing in the back of the grand stand as I went up there. I wondered if they would stop me, since I was technically on fairgrounds property. They didn't say a thing as I moved through the rows giving out the tracts. I passed them and said "hi" on the way back down. They asked what I was giving out, and each took a million. I told them the million dollar question was on the back and headed down stairs. I handed out nearly 600 tracts before the show started.
Here's three neat things God brought about that night...
At the start of the celebration, they had a changing of the flag. A woman read about the symbolism in the 13 folds of the flag. I was thrilled to hear it reference the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as well as the Trinity and other Christian themes. Check it out: http://www.celebratelove.com/flagsymbolism.htm (Note: According to Snopes.com the 13 folds are mere coincidence and there isn't any actual symbolism to them. However, reading it lead them to mention and glorify our Lord and God from the stage so I'm fine with that.)
As I was giving out the Giant $100s, one guy asked me who produced them. I told him it was Living Waters. He said, "I thought so!" His name is Bill Smaw. When Ray Comfort first came over from New Zealand, he landed at Hosana Chapel in Bellflower, CA. Bill Smaw worked with him as things were getting started, taking phone orders and getting Ray speaking engagements. How cool is that? I gave him my card and told him a little about our street ministry here locally.
After the show was over, I got to talk with the head of my dad's band. His name is Jeff Nicholoson (lead vocals & bass guitar). He knows Ray too. In fact, he said to tell Ray "hi" when I get the chance. He thanked me for all the tracts that were given out. I just thank God for how He orchestrated things: from the gospel being put in people's hands at the start all the way through to the band proclaiming our Lord's name at the end! Jeff also tells me he is designing some interesting tracts here locally. I left him with one of my cards so he could follow up and get in touch with me later. Praise God!
Greg & Rich at the July 4th Parade in Central Point.
(Look carefully... the kid on the right is checking out a Million.)
Greg says he felt the Lord wanted him closer to home and he was lead to Central Point for the 4th of July parade. He figured it was best to get there early, because people would be holding their spots and sometimes sitting there for up to an hour ahead of time. They get bored quickly! Greg started his tract attack aound 9:30am (America America, World's Best Optical Illusions, and Million Dollar Bills). Once the parade started, he moved behind the crowds to pass them millions where they were sitting on the sidewalks. Apparently, he bumped into Rich Scott there. Rich is another Seed Sower from Central Point that was able to join us for a bit back during our Da Vinci Code Outreach. When the parade was over and people headed back to their cars, Greg says he was able to just stand in one spot and hand off tracts as they flowed by. He then found a small park and was able to do much of the same thing. From what he tells me, God had blessed him with an opportunity to hand out over 800 tracts by 2pm. That's awesome for a small community! (I thank God for you, bro.)
A dozen free "Name Ten Get $20" shirts have been
donated for those attending the upcoming mini-EBC.
Saturday I was on solo patrol, so I decided to head back down to Riverside Park. I was wearing one of the Name Ten Get $20 shirts, which lead to four good witnessing encounters. I've uploaded the MP3s to our website. You can find and listen to them on the audios page.
Here's the new ones to look for:
Steven & Anthony
These two young guys were wearing crosses made out of nails and Anthony had a hat with "Nail" on it. They work for a Christian rock band by that name. However, in the Name Ten Get $20 challenge, they only came up with two commandments. That lead to a look into the Mirror of the Law and I got to fill in some pieces they were missing in the message of salvation.
Tom & Trish
Tom was a new Christian... only three months old in Christ! This was a neat chance to emphasize the essentials in the gospel and talk about amazing grace with justice and love meeting in the cross.
Faith & Allie
This was a divine appointment with a mother and daughter. Faith tried the Name Ten Get $20 challenge. As we talked about the commandments, she told me they had just been talking about how she shouldn't be using God's name in vain. We talked a little more after the recording, and Faith said she knew God was trying to get her attention.
Arthur
The volume in this audio is soft, but it was a great encounter. Arthur was sitting on a bench with his Bible. He said he's been a Christian for nine years, so I asked him what I needed to know to be saved. After he tried to explain it, I showed him how we share the gospel from a message of law & grace. We talked for a while, and afterwards he told me he was kind of lost and trying figure things out. He also said he was new to town and just happened to be at the park that day. Praise God for divine appointments!
Looking back over things, it appears God had a sort of theme going on with those encounters in the park.
Please, pray for the seeds that were sown this week. May Jesus receive the glory He is due!

Have you noticed lately that it seems like everything is coming out against the Christian faith.
Another Lame attempt to dubunk JesusThe book and movie "The Davinci Code"
The DaVinci Code movie is coming May 19th. The tag line for the movie is "Seek the Truth."
For those who don't know, the story centers around Tom Hank's character seeking out supposed truths hidden by the early church. They're blatant heresies, such as Jesus was a guru of sorts, but a mere man. That He had sex with Mary Magdalene in religious rites (to experience God) and they in turn had a child together. It's full of secret societies and intrigue, which the lost feed on.
What Can We Do?
The Da Vinci Code book and movie provides a golden opportunity for every family to address some critical and foundational beliefs about Christ and his Word. Questions will be raised and we as parents have an opportunity to be equipped ourselves and equip our young people with clear and correct answers.
DaVinci Guide(PDF)DaVinci Study Guide(PDF)Response to Questions that may be asked about the Davinci Codemore responses to the Davinci CodeThe Jesus PapersThe lost book of Judas.
Should this concern us?
I believe that we need to be equipped to answer objections to the Christian faith. This is not new, there will always be opposition to Christianity, Christ and the Bible. They often attack the book of Genesis but thanks to such ministries as Answers in Genesis to help us respond to those Attacks. I believe that rather it is a book or movie we can turn these things that were meant for evil and use them for good.
But Does It Really Matter?
Some may ask: ?What harm is there if our kids get a little confused and adopt a few distorted beliefs as long as they remain Christians?? There is great harm. You see, what we believe reflects the values we adopt, and our values in turn dictate our behavior. Research shows that when young people lack a basic belief system, it negatively affects their attitudes. As a result they are:
? 225% more likely to be angry with life
? 216% more likely to be resentful
? 210% more likely to lack purpose in life
? 200% more likely to be disappointed in life.[2]
The research also shows that our young people?s failure to adopt a foundational Christian belief system negatively impacts their behavior and causes them to be:
? 48% more likely to cheat on an exam
? 200% more likely to steal
? 200% more likely to physically hurt someone
? 300% more likely to use illegal drugs
? 600% more likely to attempt suicide.[3]
These books or movies will be a good springboard for Evangelism. You may not have to go to someone to Witness to them they may come to you. You can always say"Did you see the Davinci Code"? Then address some of the issues raised in the book or movie but Remember to stay on track with
W.D.J.D.. We can't argue anyone into the Kingdom of God. I will give you links below to use in One 2 One Witnessing encounters.

(Taken from "The Evidence Bible" by Ray Comfort, Bridge Logos Publishers)
"Is it possible that Jesus simply fainted on the cross, and revived while He was in the tomb?"
Jesus had been whipped and beaten, and was bleeding from His head, back, hands, and feet for at least six hours. While he was on the cross, a soldier pierced His side with a spear and blood and water gushed out. Professional soldiers would certainly have completed their assigned task and ensured his death.
"It is impossible that a being who had stolen half-dead out of the sepulcher, who crept about weak and ill, wanting medical treatment, who required bandaging, strengthening, and indulgence, and who still at last yielded to his sufferings, could have given to the disciples the impression that he was a conqueror over death and the grave, the Prince of Life: an impression which lay at the bottom of their future ministry. Such a resuscitation could only have weakened the impression which he had made upon them in life and in death, at the most could only have given it an elegiac voice, but could by no possibility have changed their sorrow into enthusiasm, have elevated their reverence into worship." Strauss, New Life of Jesus (quoted in Who Moved the Stone? by Frank Morison)
