Interstate 610
Interstate 610 is a 38 mile complete loop of the city of Houston, Texas. On this page, I will post photos showing the entire length of I-610’s Inner Loop showing its progression around the city of Houston.
I-610 Inner Loop
I-610, South Loop, West at Exit 1B. This exit serves Fannin Street in addition to the Astrodome.
I-610, South Loop, West at Exit 1C. This exit serves Kirby Drive in addition to the Astrodome, Astroworld, Rice University, and Reliant Field.
I-610, South Loop, West at Exit 2. This exit serves Alternate US 90, Buffalo Speedway, and South Main Street. To the north of here, one passes through the affluent enclaves of Bellaire and West University Park.
I-610, South Loop, West at Exit 3. This exit serves Stella Link Road.
I-610, South Loop, West at Exit 4A. This exit serves Braeswood Boulevard. Also in this picture, one can see the transition from the South Loop to the West Loop with the directional change ahead.
I-610, West Loop, North at Exit 4B. This exit serves South Post Oak Boulevard. Traffic leaving for Post Oak will actually pass under the I-610 Outer Loop in route to the exit.
I-610, West Loop, North at Exit 5B. This exit serves Evergreen Street. The tall building in the background is the Williams Energy Tower which represents the tallest building lying outside a CBD in the United States.
I-610, West Loop, North at Exit 6. This exit serves Bellaire Boulevard, Bissonnet Street, and Fournance Place in the Bellaire community.
I-610, West Loop, North at Exit 8A. This exit serves US 59 aka the Southwest Freeway just to the south of the Galleria. US 59 through Houston marks the future route of Interstate 69 through the city.
I-610, West Loop, North at Exit 8C. This exit serves F.M. 1093, Westheimer Road, in the Galleria area.
I-610, West Loop, North at Exit 9. This exit serves San Felipe Road in the Galleria area of Houston. San Felipe serves as a nice alternate route for congested Westheimer Road through the Galleria area.
I-610, West Loop, North at Exit 10. This exit serves Memorial Drive and Woodway Drive. Memorial is a very nice ride as it passes through the “Texas Size” Memorial Park to the west of downtown.
I-610, West Loop, North at Exit 11. This exit serves Interstate 10, the Katy Freeway. From this point, San Antonio lies 190 miles to the west and downtown lies about 7 miles to the east.
I-610, West Loop, North at Exit 12 & 13B. Exit 12 serves West 18th Street, and Exit 13B marks the eastern terminus of US 290. This junction also marks the end of the West Loop and the beginning of the North Loop.
I-610, North Loop, East at Exit 13C. This exit serves T. C. Jester Boulevard in northwest Houston.
I-610, North Loop, East at Exit 14. This exit serves Ella Boulevard in northwest Houston.
I-610, North Loop, East at Exit 15. This exit serves Texas Spur 261 in addition to both Durham and Shepherd Drives in northwest Houston.
I-610, North Loop, East at Exit 16A. This exit serves Yale Street and the Houston Heights sections of northern Houston.
I-610, North Loop, East at Exit 16B. This exit serves North Main Street in addition to the Heights area.
I-610, North Loop, East at Exit 17A. This exit serves Airline Drive immediately before the I-45 junction.
I-610, North Loop, East at Exit 17B. This exit serves Interstate 45 North. I-45 will see its northern end south of downtown Dallas in about 270 miles.
I-610, North Loop, East at Exit 17C. This exit serves Interstate 45 South. I-45 will enter downtown Houston about five miles south of this junction.
I-610, North Loop, East at Exit 18. This exit serves Irvington Boulevard just to the east of I-45.
I-610, North Loop, East at Exit 19A. This exit serves Hardy Street and Jensen Drive.
I-610, North Loop, East at Exit 19B. This marks the southern end of the Hardy Toll Road. This toll road is the quickest way to access George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) from downtown.
I-610, North Loop, East at Exit 20. This exit serves Interstate US 59 in the northeastern portions of Houston.
I-610, North Loop, East at Exit 21. This exit serves Lockwood Drive and Hirsch Road.
I-610, North Loop, East at Exit 22. This exit serves Homestead Road.
I-610, North Loop, East at Exit 23A. This exit serves Kirkpatrick Boulevard.
I-610, North Loop, East at Exit 21. This exit serves North Wayside Drive and Liberty Road.
I-610, North Loop, East at Exit 24. This exit serves US 90 East and also mark the end of the North Loop.
I-610, East Loop, South at Exit 25. This exit serves Gellhorn Drive.
I-610, East Loop, South at Exit 26A. This exit serves Interstate 10 with Beaumont lying about 80 miles to the east and downtown resting about five miles to the west.
I-610, East Loop, South at Exit 27. This exit serves Turning Basin Drive.
I-610, East Loop, South at Exit 28. This exit serves Clinton Drive. The large bridge in the background crosses over the Houston Ship Channel, one of the world’s most dangerous bodies of water.
I-610, East Loop, South at Exit 29. This exit serves the Main Entrance of the Port of Houston, one of the world’s busiest .
I-610, East Loop, South at Exit 30A. This exit serves Manchester Street in far southeast Houston.
I-610, East Loop, South at Exit 30B. This exit serves Texas 225 East and the industrial Houston suburbs of Pasadena and La Porte. This also marks the end of the East Loop.
I-610, South Loop, West at Exit 30C. This exit serves Texas 225 West (Lawndale Avenue) and also marks the beginning of the South Loop.
I-610, South Loop, West at Exit 31. This exit serves Broadway Boulevard east of the I-45 junction.
I-610, South Loop, West at Exit 32A. This exit serves Interstate 45 South. I-45 will see its southern end in about 40 miles in Galveston.
I-610, South Loop, West at Exit 32B. This exit serves Interstate 45 North. I-45 will reach downtown in about five miles. This exit also marks the northern end for Texas 35. Also shown in this picture is the advance signage for Exit 33 (My pic of the Exit 33 signage did not come out)
I-610, South Loop, West at Exit 34A. This exit serves South Wayside Drive and Long Drive in south Houston.
I-610, South Loop, West at Exit 35. This exit serves Martin Luther King Drive and Crestmont Street in south Houston.
I-610, South Loop, West at Exit 36A. This exit serves Calais Road and Holmes Road.
I-610, South Loop, West at Exit 37. This exit serves Scott Street just east of the Texas 288 junction.
I-610, South Loop, West at Exit 38A. This exit serves both Texas 288 North and South in addition to marking the zero milepost for the Houston beltway.
