In this gallery, I will include various road pictures from throughout the Volunteer State. With the Smokies looming in the background, this picture shows Interstate 40 East at Exit 440 near Newport. Tennessee Secondary 73 takes motorists to US 321 which leads into the tourist town of Gatlinburg, the "Gateway of the Smokies."
US 321 North at "to 40" BGS in Sevierville. Both US 321 and US 411 are always very busy through Sevierville carrying tourists in and out of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
US 441 South (Broadway) at Interstate 640 in Knoxville.
US 72 East at a Truck Advisory Sign before Interstate 24 in South Pittsburg. These advisory signs are also located on the off ramps from both 24 East and West.
Interstate 440 East at Interstate 65 in Nashville. Interstate 440, aka the “Four-Fourty Parkway,” will conclude in just about three miles at Interstate 24.
Interstate 65 North at Interstate 40 in Nashville. This marks the beginning of a short duplex between Interstates 40 and 65 in Nashville. 40 and 65 will split about two miles to the west at Exit 208 where 65 turns north towards Louisville along the former Interstate 265 routing. Nashville’s downtown skyline is also visible in the background of this photo.
Interstate 40 East at Interstate 24 West in Nashville. This marks the beginning of a short duplex between the two interstates through Nashville. Those continuing to Chattanooga on 24 will leave 40 at Exit 211, those going to Clarksville will reach the city in about 35 miles.
Tennessee 158 East at Neyland Drive in Knoxville. From this point, Tennessee 158 West will travel along the north bank of the Tennessee River along the fringes of downtown and the University of Tennessee before reaching its end at US 11 (Kingston Pike) just west of US 129.
Interstate 55 South at Interstate 55 in Memphis.
Interstate 65 North at Tennessee 840 in Spring Hill. Once Tennessee 840 is complete, it will serve as a complete bypass of Nashville, and consequently be commissioned as Interstate 840.
Tennessee 78 South at Interstate 155 East in Dyersburg. Interstate 155 will end in two miles at US 51 to the east and US 51 will continue north from 155's end and reach Union City in just about 30 miles.

Interstate 240 West at Interstate 55 in Memphis. Interstate This pic shows the junction between Interstates 240 and 55 in Memphis. Notice how those on 240 must exit to the right while those continuing on 55 north do not. Very strange! Also, Jackson, Miss is used as a control city instead of just Jackson to distinguish itself from Jackson, Tennessee located to the east of Memphis on Interstate 40.
Interstate 40 West at Interstate 75 South near Farragut. This photo shows the split of Interstates 40 and 75 west of Knoxville along 40 West near Farragut. The interstates share a duplex from Exit 368 through Exit 385 (Interstate 640) in Knoxville.
