Part 1

The Origin of  Life

The SOURCE of All Created Life is God, as the One and Only Uncreated Divine & Eternal Life.

God Himself as "The Life" and the "fountain" or source of all life.

9 For with thee is the fountain of life... Psalm 36:9a

1) God is The Divine Life; the One Life that has the nature & quality of God Himself.

·         God's Life inherently bears the nature of God, just as a gold cup has the quality of gold and is inherently incorruptible (cf., Rom 1:23).

·         God's Life is limitless and transcends All. All other kinds of life are limited, subject to limits; e.g., sickness, decay and death.

·         God's nature is one of righteousness and justice. (cf., Rom 3:22, 26)

·         God as Love outflows His life to others as an "other-lover," He is the giver of Life to others.

"God so loved the world, that HE GAVE his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (Zoë, the eternal spirit-life of the Son). (John 3:16, cf., 1Jn 5:11-12)

2) God is The Eternal life; the one Who has always existed; without beginning or ending.

Eternality is only one inherent characteristic of God's Divine Life.

Psalm 90:2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from Everlasting To Everlasting, thou art God.

·         God is the "I AM," not the "I was" or "I will be." As the "I Am," we find God in the "now."

Exodus 3:14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM...

  • God's is the Self-existent Life.

John 5:26 For as the Father hath Life In Himself; so hath he given to the Son to have Life In Himself;

  • God's life that is Independent of Circumstances & Environment.

Isaiah 53:2 For he (Messiah) shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.

  • "Eternal life" denotes 2 aspects of God's life; 1) having the real life and, 2) living without limit.

Compare this to the earthly in which inanimate stone elements will be burned up in the end.

2 Corinthians 5:1  For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

  •  God's life is the Indestructible and Unlimited life

Acts 2:24 (Jesus) Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden (held) of it. Hebrews 7:16 (Jesus is) made… after the Power Of An Endless Life.

Only "Eternal Life" can be called "The Real Life." Being Eternal, God's Spirit-Life is the only REAL LIFE qualified to be called "LIFE."

  • All Created Life, is temporal and mortal, subject to limits by decay and death.
  • Mortal life is unable to survive the killing blow. We see this in Jesus of Nazareth, who as the Son of Man, "gave up the Spirit" and died in His human body that He had acquired from His human mother, Mary. Jesus' human "body" lineage went back to Adam (Luke 3:38).
  • Man's human life is only the image or shadow of God's life, yet potentially destined to become an expression of God's life.
  • Limited by his mortal life, mankind is enslaved to self-interest, to preserve it as getters, not givers.
  • Having of God's Eternal Life sets believers free from concern for their human life. (cf., 2Cor 1:8-9)

The Bible clearly says Jesus Christ is God (cf., Isa 9:6), and He brought "The Life" (Jn 14:6) to men.

The Greek "Zoë," translated "life" in the Bible, refers to "the eternal spirit-life that is of God Himself."

John 1:4 In him (Jesus) was life (Zoë life); and the life was the light of men.

John 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life (Zoë): he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live (zao, experience His Spirit of Life).

1 John 5:11-12 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life (Zoë), and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life (Zoë); and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life (Zoë).
