Significant contributions and Relationship with the Society:
"        Faculty of Commerce is a large department with more than 500 students. It is a great challenge to offer the right kind of leadership.  It is also important to integrate the goals of the department with the goals of the institution.  I have built certain systems to provide opportunities for the students and the staff to grow.
"        As a Master Facilitator in Human Resource Development, I have conducted several programmes on Self-Esteem, Personal Effectiveness, Public Speaking, Effective Communication and Career Guidance. Target Groups are Teachers at all levels, Students at all levels, Parents, Social Workers and Women workers.
"        I have offered leadership to the teaching community at the state level and also at the university level.
"        At present, I am the General Secretary of the Federation of University and College Teachers' Associations in Karnataka (FUCTAK). I was the President of Association of Mangalore University College Teachers (AMUCT) for four terms. This was a great opportunity for me to work with thousands of teachers.
"        My membership in the academic council and senate of Mangalore University gave me ample opportunities to understand and serve higher education.
"        Naturally, as a teacher movement leader I was Involved in several public projects and issues.
"        I was able to contribute to promoting equity culture as a public representative on Mangalore stock exchange committee.
"        The qualification as a master facilitator in Human Resource Development helped me to understand the students and the youth. I have tried to create awareness among our parents and teachers about how to deal with adolescents and children.
"        My commitment to teaching has been recognized and appreciated by my students. Although teaching profession has given me immense satisfaction, I still have a long way to go. I have not done much in research and publication of research papers.
"        My Association with several public organizations have helped me, to understand the issues concerning people and education, especially, higher education.
