Acme 2004 Events
1.Bizwiz:-
 
"Knowledge is Power"
        The mastermind conquers all odds. So get ready to rack those grey cells and prove yourself the real 'Biz Wiz'.
Rules
a.     One team per college consisting of 2 members.
b.     A written preliminary round will be conducted.
c.    Six teams qualify for the finals.
            d.    Quizmaster's decision will be final and binding.
 
 
2.Tycoon :-
 
"All that glitters is not gold"
        There can always be only one at the top and one alone. So if you have it in you to be distinct, take the plunge.
        The event will have Five Rounds:
i.        Inscribe (Mock CAT) :
                A written test on the lines of CAT will be conducted.
ii.        Dream Merchants (Slick Sell) :
                    Prove your marketing skills by hard selling a product. Top 10 qualify
iii.        Jee Dee (Group Discussion):
              The top 10 will make two groups. Each group will indulge in an intense discussion on thorny issues. Six qualify for the next round.
iv.        Piece it up:
Creativity lies in the eyes of the beholder. Break the reality and see beyond.
At the end of the first day of ACME the six qualifying for this round will be shown a non-business clipping to be interpreted on the corporate lines.
 
v.        High Tide(Stress Interview):
                        The final ordeal for the laurel wreath. Dare to be different. Dare to take a    stand for what you know is right. Beat the heat; Keep it cool!
 
3.On thin ice:-
 
"Opportunity never knocks twice at the same door"
         Adventure is the order of the day. You will never come to know the depth of the ocean if you stand at the shore. One man's junk can be another man's treasure.

Rules:
           a. One Team of 5 members per college.
           b. Time allotted: 5 + 1 minutes for presentation.
           c. Presentation can be made on any venture of your choice.
           d. PowerPoint / Flash presentations only.
 
4.Blitzkrieg:-
 
"Buy at the cheapest market and sell in the dearest"
        'Bulls and Bears' are no longer restricted to the jungle alone. Money rules. So, make the best of speculation and earn the fast buck.               
 
Rules:
           a. One Team of five members per  college.
                         (3 brokers, 1 accountant & 1 internal auditor) 
            b. No short-selling or long-buying.
 
5.Phoenix:-
 
"History repeats itself"
But business does not follow any rules and norms. Failure itself can be the stepping stone to many a success. So, why not prove your skill and turn failure to success.
 
Rules :
a.     One Team of five members per college.
b.     Failed products will be e-mailed Three days prior to the event.
c.     A project report will have to be submitted at the time of registration.
d.    The project report should contain the reasons for the failure of the product in the market.
e.     Top 8 teams qualify for the finals.
f.     Time allotted: 5+2 minutes for presentation, 2+1 minutes for ads.
g.     Only PowerPoint / Flash presentation is allowed.
h.     Mad Ads are not permitted.
 
6.Critique:-
 
"Advertisemants sell aspirations not products"
You are what your perception is. If finding faults is your cup of tea, this is the place for you to be.
 
Rules :
a.     One Team of five members per college.
b.     The product will be e-mailed Three days prior to the event.
c.     Each team is to come up with an innovative add for the given product.
d.    Time alloted : 2 + 1 minutes for presentation and 2 + 1 minutes for ads.
e.     PowerPoint / Flash presentations only.
f.     Mad Ads are not permitted.
 
7.Counter strike:-
 
"Every coin has two sides"
         Man himself is his biggest critic. So turn the tables across and learn how fickle mindedness too, pays.

Rules:
           a. One participant per college.
           b. Time allotted: 3 minutes for presentation.
           c. Judges will press the bell at their discretion and you have to switch tracks every time. The participant will have to speak against the point he/she was speaking at the time of the bell.
 
8.Battle ground:-
 
"Ignorantia juris non excusat"
          Ignorance of law is no excuse. Be shrewd and prove that justice surely triumphs at the end of the day.
           
Rules:
a.        One Team of four members per college.
b.        The case for the prelims will be e-mailed Three days prior to the event and the solutions to the case are to be submitted at the time of registration. 
c.        One member of the team may become a witness.
d.        Time allotted: 8 + 2 minutes for presentation.
e.        Top six teams qualify for the finals.
