Personality: A little arrogant and more than a little conceited, D'val is quite proud of his looks and he is a shameless flirt, though he has no desire for commitment or long-term relationships. He tends to be rather vain, but he can set aside his personal concerns if he has to to get something done. His good looks, good manners, and excellent dance skills make him quite a catch within the weyr, but beneath all the oozing charm, he's actually scared of winding up alone.
History: D'val was born to a blue rider father and a holder mother. His mother considered his birht a complete mistake and left him at the weyr as soon as she could. So, D'val grew up in the Lower Caverns with the other weyr children. He saw his father occasionally, but other than that, he was simply left in the care of the Lower Caverns workers.
D'val was a naturally outgoing child. His manners were engaging, and he never wanted for friends. His arrogance often got him in to trouble with the other boys his age, but it usually didn't last long. When the other children were angry at him and left him to himself, he often wandered the nearby beaches. It was during these times that he managed to find his three friends.
As he grew older, D'val began to help out in the Lower Caverns. He was smaller than most of the other chldren his age, which made it easy for him to get around the bustling area. Plus, he was fairly quick, so the Headwoman found him to be quite a useful errand boy and general helper. As he continued to work, he eventually was taught how to cook and became one of the better bakers of the weyr. He often likes to use his sweets to charm the women he pursues.
Despite his height, D'val is certainly not intimidated by anyone. In fact, his conceit, arrogance, and pride often get him into trouble still, but there are plenty of girls that don't mind his less than perfect personality since he has better than average looks to balance it out. Because of his personality, he was not shocked at all when he was Searched or later Impressed. His only surprise was that he Impressed a blue dragon instead of a bronze.
