R. Carol Fitts TUSCALOOSA - R. Carol Fitts, 64, 10510 Old Greensboro Road, died Dec. 16, 2000, at her residence. Services will be at Little Sandy Baptist Church on Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Billy Gray, the Rev. Don Bennett and the Rev. Marvin Palmer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is tonight from 6-8 p.m. The body will lie in state one hour prior to service at the church. Magnolia Chapel South is directing. She is preceded in death by her parents, Vea and Kelsey Rutledge. Survivors include her spouse of 47 years, James E. Fitts, Tuscaloosa; daughters, Sharon Fitts, Istanbul, Turkey, Lisa and Mike Brown, Tampa, Fla.; sons, David and Paige Fitts, Atlanta, Ga., Charles and Tammy Fitts, Tuscaloosa; sister, Marie and Frank Hendrix, Tuscaloosa; brother, Barney and Jean Rutledge, Fayette; grandchildren, Chandler Slayton Fitts, Emily Faith Fitts, Lara Marie Romanello and Matt Brown. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a member of Little Sandy Baptist Church all of her adult life. She was a faithful member and active in many areas of the church. She was co-chairman of the committee Restoration of the Old Church. She worked for Dr. Walter Folsom for many years and then for Dr. Isabel Oldshue. Pallbearers will be Bo Atkinson, Heath Hendrix, Daniel Hendrix, Matt Brown, Terry Hendrix and Bobby McFerrin. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. W.C. Folsom, Mrs. W.C. Folsom, Tom Montgomery, Isabel Oldshue and office staff, Bro. and Mrs. Marvin Palmer, Dr. and Mrs. Scott E. Atkinson and family, Dr. James Russell, Russ and Debbie Lewis and family, Daphne Hendrix and children, John Hendrix and children, Henry and Betty Smith, Mable Mitchell and family, Terry and Wanda Hendrix, E.J. and Bonita Martin, Marie Truelove, Jerry Wallace and family, Bud Fitts and family, Reba Whaley, Jane and Harold Bigham, Billy Ryan and family, Wayne Ryan and family, Gene and Rena Anderson, Amelia Hinton and family, Troy Hinton and family, Wayne and Sybil Ryan and family, members of Little Sandy Baptist Church, Little Sandy and Taylorville Community, Amelia Carroll and family, Ronnie Mitchell and family, Donald Hallman and family.
