The 35th Annual Carnation Ball was held in Montgomery, AL at the
Embassy Suites Hotel. Phi Mus enjoyed dinner and the sounds of Patrick Blanchard and
the Big Mighty.
The women were excited to see one of their own
sisters, Heather Moran, the reigning Miss TSU 2000, crown one of her own sorority sisters,
Kelly Hawkins, Miss TSU 2001.
December
The chapter helped make several children in Troy, AL Christmas a
little better by hosting "Santa" shortly before Christmas Break. Santa
came by for a visit and brought toys for several children that were donated by the
collegiates.
November
Big Sister Appreciation found the sisters of Phi Mu venturing to
Montgomery for a night of shopping, eating, and a little ice-skating.
Phi Mu also held their Mother's Recognition
Service this month and enjoyed special memories shared by all of the sisters that
participated.
October
Phi Mu hosted its annual Teeter Totter for Project Hope. The
women took turns rocking on teeter-totters all day long in the Quad on campus and provided
snacks to those who came by to support the chapter.
Phi Mu hosted its second annual Greek
celebration with a "Greek Luau" held at the Phi Mu house. Over 125 Greek
women joined together for food, fun, and a celebration of being "Greek".
The chapter also collected canned goods for the
local Salvation Army chapter in Pike County. Over 500 canned goods were donated.
Phi Mu also held their annual fall date party on
the Betsy Ann Riverboat. A chapter tradition for over 10 years, the Kappa Gamma
Chapter always enjoys a wonderful evening rolling down the Alabama River and celebrating
good times with their sisters.
Phi Mu ended the month by coming out on top and
winning the Overall Homecoming Award at Troy State University.
September
Phi Mu began an exciting Fall Semester with "Pink Christmas" that
celebrated the long-standing tradition of showering the new pledges with gifts from the
Big Sisters.
Phi Mu also held its' first Sisterhood Supper
for the year. Everyone had a great time!
