A Brokenstar Interview With Park

For those not familiar with Park, can you give us a brief history in 4 or 5 sentences.
Park has been around since 1996 with several different members several tours and lots of comps a full length and an EP which got them signed to Lobster Records.

Tell us something about each member.
Ladd is short balding beauty who sings and plays guitar. Justin is an aspiring alcoholic and plays guitar. Gabe is a recovering Red neck and plays bass. Miles is a client at weight watchers and plays drums.

How would you describe your sound? What are your major influences?
Kinda milky like discharge with guitars and drums some of you should just buy the CD and listen for yourself.

What do you think about the Warped tour this year with the addition of the punkrocks.net stage?
Man! Its bad ass! We get to go play the gosh darn warped tour.

Where does Park see themselves going? What is next after the Warped Tour and "No Signal"?
After warped tour we are going to just try to keep playing shows as much as possible. We are going to try to record a few of our new songs while we are in California. Who knows what well do with the recording for a comp or a split well just have to see what happens.

On Brokenstar.com, we have this thing called "stereo" (original, i know) where the staff members list 4 or 5 bands/cds that they are listening to right now. What would be in you guys stereo?

How's the contest going for the search for a person to be your slave (merch, helping drive, pep talks, rubbing feet- the usual duties) for the warped tour? A lot of entries? Any weird ones?
We have probably had about 10 e-mail's from people wanting to go on tour with us we haven't made any decisions yet. Some have stood out more then others well see what happens.

Brokenstar: Any funny road stories?
When we were on tour with Moneen in Canada we are walking down the street and ladd had to fart. He farts and says I think I shit my pants. As he starts walking like he has a big turd in his pants gabe smacks his ass and rubs it all in, He makes his way in to the bathroom at the restaurant. He had been wearing some pajama pants for some reason and he took them off in the bathroom and left them for the next person who came in. Moneen shows up and we tell kenny the story and he runs to the bathroom to see the pants covered in Poo. He then takes the pants and brings them in the restaurant to show everyone and throw them around a bit. He ends up leaving them on a table when a bum walks up and is about ready to pick them up when he notices the pants have poo on them.

If each member of the band were a video game character, who would they be and why?
Ladd would samus from metroid. gabe would be sonic the hedgehog. Justin would be coupa troppa from Mario brothers. Miles would be the big guy from mike Tyson's punch out.
