ig Day Out 2000
On Sunday
October 1, 2000, I hopped out of bed early, because it was a day I had
been waiting for four months, The Big Day Out Concert in Atlanta.
About a month ago I had woken up early to buy tickets online, and it was
a good thing that I did. It sold out in a matter of hours. There was a
four-ticket limit, so four tickets was all I was able to get. Some how
I talked my mom into letting me use her credit card. Me, my friend Stephanie,
my mom, and my brother went. My mom wouldn't let me go by myself. Even
though we would have been just fine. I drove most of the way anyhow.
Well,
I woke up at 7:45, and it should of been earlier, but I had stayed up too
late the night before at Rosie's party. The doors opened at 12:00, and
the drive to Atlanta was about 4 hours, so we wanted to leave at 8:00.
Of coarse that didn't happen! Also, when we were like halfway to Atlanta
I remembered that the time changed ahead an hour! So, we didn't get there
till 1:00pm. We were able to find Lakewood Amphitheater pretty well though.
There were a lot of people there, and they charged $15 to park! The tickets
already cost about $60 dollars. But it was worth it. I would have spent
that much to just see Green Day.
All
my favorite bands were playing. Stroke 9, my favorite that I've seen two
other times, played first on the main stage at 2:00. We had pretty good
seats. They were under the pavilion thankfully, because it was so hot.
Another on eof my favorite bands, Eve 6, played. They were really good
live. I also saw Everclear, which I love. They were awesome, but I wish
they would of song more of there old songs. My favorite would have to be
Green Day though. They rocked. I knew everyone of their songs they sang.
It was so awesome. Another one of my favorite bands, Incubus played. They
played after Green Day on the Living Out Loud Stage. Green Day played over
their time, so we missed part of Incubus. But we got there just in time
to hear "Stellar". The whole day rocked. We got home about 1:00 in the
morning, but it was worth it. I got a Green Day t-shirt and a Big Day Out
tye-dye t-shirt. I didn't even mind paying the $3 for a glass of water.
There were alot of people there!
