Years later while living in Flordia, Sandy met Bob Benedetto through a mutual friend, Bucky Pizzarelli. This was the begining of a long and rewarding relationship both professionally and personally. Sandy feels blessed. He lives his life doing what he loves. He now resides in San Diego and is busy as ever teaching and playing with many great musicians.

Sandy DeVito was born in Newark, N.J. to a family of music loving Italians. He grew up hearing Italian opera from his grandfather and learned at an early age to accompany his uncle on guitar and his father on mandolin. He decided at age 11 that he wanted to make music his life's work. He has fulfilled his pursuit of a musical life by teaching and playing porfessionally for the past 50 years. During this time he never stopped learning. He studied with Chuck Wayne for 10 years and has backed up such celebrities as Julius LaRosa, Tony Martin, Vicki Carr, Julie London and has recorded with the Ray Charles Singers. He had the distinction of meeting Les Paul and through this association has recorded with Les, Charlie Byrd and George Barnes.
