Here are Some of My Friends with their bikes

These are My Friends From Il.

These are the guys I met on my trip to Deals Gap. They are Greg Wilson, Dan Nelson, and Eric Johnson
(I don't remember the girls names).

These are the bikes they ride. The fourth guy in the picture is Derick. He missed the night at Hooters.
You can read a little about the trip on my R100/7 page. The main thing about these guys is how much fun they are to travel with. They are good to ride with and a lot of fun around the campfire.

This is John with Karma

John is the guy who invented the "Mix-It" and he is the one who bought my K1100LT.

Steve Hebert and his Daughter Krista

I met Steve and Krista in the summer of 2001. Krista likes riding with Steve. That's a good start for a future motorcycle riding lady. They were planning on riding to the 2002 National BMW rally in Canada and wanted more lights on the bike before they began the trip. They spent a Saturday at my house and we added some lights to his bike. We added auxillary tail lights, driving lights, and converted the front turn signals to running lights. That's the day this picture was taken. They were leaving in just over a week for the trip. They were going to Vermont to visit family and then heading to Canada. I'm sure he'll let me know how the trip was when he returns.

This is Rodney With His Chopped HOG

He had just won this trophy at the Huntsville HOG rally.
Rodney and I put in about 40 hours a week at the same place and have spent a few hours riding together. Maybe I can get some close up photo's of that paint job. You really have to see it close up, the detail is great.

Guy/ New Riding Friend

One Friday I went for a ride with Guy (Firfytr). He lives south of Birmingham near Montgomery and rides a Honda ST1100. I lived east of Birmingham near Anniston and rode my RT. We decided to meet at Venture BMW at 10am. The temp was in the 60's when I left the house, but rose quickly into the upper 70's. It was a great day for a ride. While checking out my RT the night before I discovered that some of the LED's were not burning on my Hyper Lites. I got to Venture a few minutes early and asked them about the lights. They handed me a new set and said they would return the old ones. I was putting the tail light back in when Guy rode up. He grew up riding motorcycles on the backroads around here, so I followed him. We started out going south on Hwy 25. It's a real nice twisty road that goes up and back down a mountian. It was probably 25mi. until we ran in to Hwy 280. This is a straight divided 4 lane that we rode for about 20mi. to Sylacauga, where we stopped and stuffed our selves at Ryan's food bar. That's where I got lost (are you really lost if you don't care where you are?). When we left our lunch stop we headed east on some twisty back roads that I never knew existed. We stopped at a place called Weogufka to stretch. It was a cross road with a post office, one store called the Confederate Store (It seemed to be a combination gas station, convienience store, and pawn shop). There were two other buildings that looked vacant.

This is where we parked to stretch.

If you look near the top of the post behind Guy's bike, you will see a sign.

I kept looking for someone to tell us to leave. We didn't stay long. We headed out on some more twisty back roads and came up on this old one lane bridge.

We cris crossed between I-65 and Hwy 21 from Birmingham to near Montgomery. We rode twisty farm roads and roller coaster roads with almost no traffic for most of the day. We ended up back in Sylacauga and that's where we parted ways. When I got home I had put just over 300mi on my RT. I rode some nice roads, saw some pretty country, and made a new riding friend.
