I hope to be adding more hunting photo's and stories later on. For now just enjoy these nice Southern bucks.

This is Jay. His Dad is the one that got me started Coon hunting several years ago. I have hunted with Jay and his Dad for about ten years now. Jay must have been about 9. He always loved the woods,he was never scared to go to the dogs, and he was never the first one to want to go home. Jay is all grown up now and will be graduating high school this year, but he still loves the woods.
There are a lot of bad things a kid can get into growing up, but Jay and his brother David managed to stay out of trouble.
Jay has gotten to be pretty handy with a .270 and here are a couple of pictures to prove it.

First of the Season

This was Jay's first deer of the season. A pretty nice 9 point. Some people that saw it say it could be counted as a ten. He already has a couple of nice mounts hanging on the wall of his room, but not many people around here have ever seen a deer this big. The deer weighed 215 lbs, but the most amazing part was the mass of his rack. It's at the taxidermist, but I can't wait until he gets it back and can get it scored.

Two Weeks Later

Two weeks later he killed this 8 point from the same shooting house and the deer was in almost the same spot as the 9 point. I believe they said this one was 179 lbs. Jay also killed a few Gobblers this year. I guess all in all you could say he had a pretty good season.
