300D, Lang. Owner: Rich Schoenfeld, California, USA.
I took a few photos of the 300D stretch. This is the vehicle with the chromed 15" Bundt wheels. I didn't like the later model 15" wheels on the car when I purchased it. I have had the car since 1999 and try to keep it as a nice regular driver. I had a minor altercation with a post at the gas station a few months ago, hence the blue LF fender. I haven't had it painted it yet as I need to drill for and re-install the headlight wiper on that side, and I may have additional painting done as well.
The car was originally in foreign diplomatic service somewhere in the New York area. It is equipped with a divider window with 2 rear facing jumpseats, reading lamps, auxiliary air conditioning (runs off the main system), an upgraded audio/video system and of course, cupholders. Note the rear headrests!
I credit this car with turning me into a diesel freak. It was originally powered by the M123 engine, a 6 cylinder 250 that was wonderful, but a complicated set of circumstances caused me to change to the diesel drivetrain. I have since acquired a 300D with a 5 speed manual transmission (that's the car I bought the rear seat for) and a 1961 190Db.
